This is really sad. I am not a football fan, but this seems a bit extreme for this crime. How can you send a halfway decent guy to prison for harming himself, but let a woman go totally free fro killing her child. What kind of world are we really living in. Why didn't they appeal this? I almost beleive there is two types of justice...One for them and one for a black man. And you wonder why our world is so messed up. Someone please help free this young man and let justice be served....This judge must not have had his Wheaties that morning........WOW

Here we go with race again. You have it all wrong. If he wasn't a professional athlete, he would have been charged with enhancements and whatever else they could throw at him to give him the most time possible. Because he is an athlete, he got off easy. That gun could have easily gone off and hurt or killed another person.

You don't read about other decent people who made a mistake in the newspaper getting only 2 years for a gun charge. Most of them get more time than a person who is charged with murder and pleads to a lesser charge of manslaughter.

Total bullshit. Cities having laws superceding federal laws or anywhere else and making it a felony and serious prison time on top. They want you to have absolutely no protection when you go into NY as a business man and a natural target of criminals?

First of all, how can you judge the color of my skin based on words on a screen?

I'm not saying Cheney isn't a scumbag.

What I'm saying is professional athletes get preferential treatment. What about Donte Stallworth, or do I dare say it, OJ?

Too bad he isn't a white executive - he would have gotten 3 months at the federal country club.

The sentence in this case was too harsh for the crime, regardless of the occupation or skin color of the perpetrator.

You people are nuts. Nothing to do with race. NFL players are esteemed higher than others , black or white, but the system you all so love is the enemy of any. He probably did get off a little easier because he was an NFL player as well as being able to afford a big name lawyer. Still that fucking guliani and the corrupt system of america will always try to cause as much trouble as possible TO ANYONE.

Youre out of your mind. This government beast could care less about what color the creatures are it devours. It just devours anything in its path. Now, if it was one of them, an off duty cop or something, THEN it would be a different story.

I am SO tired of people like you (racist) pulling the race card whenever it suits you. Illegal possession of a weapon, discharging it in a public place, and you want this ass-clown free? I am a lifetime Gints fan, and feel he got off lightly. I doubt he winds up serving a full year. Will pull a Vick (Eagles or Raiders pick him up), and life will go on...

Pretty stiff sentence for this incident. A fine, probation and maybe community service would have been more appropriate.

I'm a New York Giant fan, and besides that I'm just a plain ole sports fan period. What Plaxico did by entering an established business (nightclub or otherwise) with an unregistered firearm was just plain STUPID. You mean to tell me that, a professional celebrity does not have available time in their day to register a firearm that cost all but maybe $50 and 2 hours wait time in line? What was so important about going to a night club armed to begin with? I learned that Plax's wife is a lawyer, and I would think (that is if she had knowledge) she if anyone would be keen to concealed weapon laws, and therefore talk him out of carrying an unregistered gun. I don't feel any sympathy for stupidity on any account!!

Guess what, Rita? I can't live in black skin. YOU can't live in my skin. NOBODY can live in anybody else's skin, so we all damn better well start to understand one another. People like YOU who keep throwing race fuel on the fire ARE the problem...

Had he done this in Columbus, he might have got a ticket. But he did this in NYC. I've never been there but even I know they have some serious gun laws. Race plays a part of alot of issues, but this isn't one of them. Any of us would be facing the same jail time if he got caught with a hand gun in NYC.

Apples and oranges. The incident with Cheaney was a hunting accident. This fool shot himself with the gun he had in his wasteband while out clubbing. What the hell does a football player need to carry a gun out while going to the clubs for?

He's lucky he didn't shoot someone else by mistake, or he'd be facing harsher charges. And probably a personal injury lawsuit on top of that.

NJ has about the same ignorant laws. Anyone who creates or supports such tyranny should be executed.

Cheney wasnt in a nightclub in NYC which has stricter gun laws than someone's private property on a ranch in Texas . And it wasnt a concealed weapon . I dont know why I responded to such a racist , I guess I wanted to help you to understand . Dont bother to reply because I doubt if I did

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Capricorn

You'll have a fabulous time if you're longing to see what's on offer in the sales, especially if you want to buy yourself some new clothes or cosmetics. However, you won't pay much attention to how much you're spending, and may even deliberately avoid thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and don't go overboard if you can't afford it.
