i did not think windfield would be ready after his injury, thats why i was hopeing they would get a free agent or two . WE DEFENTLY ARE HURTING IN THE SECONDARY IN DEFENCE and big ben will test that right away we cannot expect mirecle after mirecule to win we need solid defence, We got injured receivers also and it'll take a team effert to win this and THATS NO IF'S AND OR BUTTS KICKED. go VIKINGS.

If the play is doubtful, let's don't push it. Let's take our chances the replacements will step up and hold the line. We want all our big guns in place for the the next week return match conference game with the lowly braggard unscrupulous Packer crowd. Let's don't send Brett into Lambeau empty handed. Go Vikes

This secondary is banged up.
The Vikings cannot use that as an excuse to lose however.
The key to this game for a purple win is ball control/security and time of posession. If the Vikings can keep the offense on the field for long drives, they may have a chance for a win. Big Ben needs to get frustrated standing on the sidelines playing with his big ben balls, that is is the key.

We are screwed this week. I agree with richards poor almanac, we need to rest up the questionable players for the Pack rematch. Not that I'm saying that the Vikes should lay down for the Steelers, but it is going to be a tough day.

Vikes win this week. They learned their lesson last week about playing for 60 minutes. Losing Winfield sucks, but it shouldn't mean the game. Vikes win 31-27.

Winfield AND Abdullah AND Williams? Without Winfield their chances of winning take a huge hit, but without all three of these guys they almost have no chance.

Isn't that how you want to approach every game? Asher Allen is a stud. I bet we hear his name alot on Sunday if all of these guys are dinged up. Put Rice out there in the secondary, the Steelers have no one who could out jump him and Pitt receivers aren't overly fast either.

No wonder the Vikings will be in California soon. Minnesotans start to throw in the towel before the kickoff.

Asher Allen hits like Winfield. He lacks the experience, but Benny Sapp has that. You didn't see the Steeler fans conceding every game without Polamalu, did you? Buck up, people. If every game were played without injuries, it wouldn't be real football.

You are a pile of dung and my vikings will never join you.
Santonio Holmes is a top ten speed threat in the nfl.
Rice is one of the slowest receivers in the nfl.
You know zero about football.Find a different team to root for like the Mexican Galaxy.

Statement of the day !!! All the posts except that one before mine have something valid in them. If we play 100 %(it's physically impossible to play 110 %) throughout the game, we can easily win over the Steelers. However, when our secondary starts "Randy Mossing" it, we're $crewed. The D-line better not get fat Sunday and roll over like hogs in the mud, or big R will scorch our 2ndary. Harvin can't play
"hurt" Sunday (or high), and BF needs to find Rice often and all day. AD must push through the line rather than going down at first knock. And, Coach Grant needs to mind-meld with the Chillmeister so the CM grows some for this game. Get 'er dun, Vikes !!!

We'll be fine although it would be nice to have Winfield go. But looking at the 16 game schedule it might be more prudent to leave him out to recoop and be ready for next week or take a whole 3 weeks off to fully heal. However, with a whole week to prep for this game using our back-ups they should be ready to go. Hopefully, Frazier has planned some packages/schemes to compensate for the gap left with Winfields absence.

M. Williams won't play? Wow, that's a problem - how will we ever replace him?;-) Asher Allen may be OK if plays are kept in front of him in the cover 2, but a 4.64 40 corner can have real problems in the NFL (like getting blown away). There is no better answer, however, so I'm an Allen fan and can't wait to see how he develops.

The secondary has always been a weakness of this team for as long as I can remember. Winfield is a decent corner, but they just don't have any great players back there. The Steelers are probably licking their chops with the opportunity to pass against this lot.

You would think the Steelers game would be a low scoring affair, but I am expecting a shootout.

This is the key, he must devise a different scheme, cover 2 will not work the whole game here. Ball control, a whole lot of pressure on Ben and a lot of productive running and we will win.
