Injuries are only a part of the problem, I have been a Rams fan for over 30 years, and this is by far the worst Rams team in years. I am tired of hearing that injuries are the demise of our seasons year after year. The problem is lack of talent and lack of depth. Year after quality free agents bounce from team to team and none land in St. Louis, the Rams dont bring anyone in and if they do the dont sign anyone. This past offseason there were numerous free agents that could have helped us on both sides of the ball, that would have made us both competitive and playoff contenders. The Rams didn't do anything to add depth to the offensive line, or to a young defensive secondary. The 2 main areas where we need it the most.

This offseason I would clean house, get rid of Bulger, I know he just signed to a huge contract, but either way he is killing us. Since he had his shoulder injury he has lost accuracy on his passes, he has lost the ability to throw he deep ball, and he has lost his pocket pressence. He takes to many sacks when he has the chance to just throw the ball away.

I would revamp the O-line, keeping only Grecko, Incognito, Bell, and maybe Barron.

I would part ways with Stephen Jackson, I know,I know, when he is healthy he is a horse, but he hasn't been healtthy and played a full season in 3 years. I would keep Avery, Burton, let Holt, Bennett(who we never should have signed) and Looker go.

Defevsively I would keep Long, Carriker, Pisa, Witherspoon, Culberson, Atogwe, and maybe Bartell, everyone else would go.

And my first offseason move would be to try and bring back Warner, who we never should have let go in the first place. That started the downfall for the Rams. Our front office has no grasp for draft day talent.

I agree with a lot of what you said except I would not let all those offensive players go except Bulger. I think Jackson is one of those who is sitting when the team is is bad to try to be healthy for next year when they may be good. I don't really like him anymore because he seems to lack heart, but they would be hard pressed to find someone better.

The QB situation is getting interesting. I too have had the thought of Warner back in St. Louis cross my mind and I can't help but be hopeful for that. AZ may make the playoffs but they won't go further than the 2nd round and I can't see them offering Warner a deal with Matt L. waiting in the wings to be the face of the franchise. All that being said, it won't matter who the Rams bring in unless they can protect. The defense has played decent for the most part so I think they need to focus on re building the offensive line. If they do that I think Warner would find instant chemistry with Holt who he played with before and I can't imagine who else they could bring in to replace Bennett or anyone else. Bennett may be good if he could stay healthy for than a game. The same goes for McMichael.

I think there is no question that Bulger needs to go though. Not only has the injury changed him, but he is just not a leader. That is one thing that Kurt Warner gets no credit for. He is a great leader and I think he has a few good years left if they can protect him. I hope he comes back. Letting him go was a HUGE mistake.

Libra

You're full of empathy and affection today, so it would be a shame not to spread it around. It's a marvellous day for a low-key get-together with some of the people you haven't seen during the past few days, because you'll enjoy having a good chat about what's been happening. Once your social duties are out of the way you'll love curling up on the sofa with a good book or a favourite film.
