Bears placing trust in Payne

Full story: Chicago Tribune

Bears safety Kevin Payne seems to have mastered the art of disguise, refusing to divulge whether he'll start Sunday night's season opener at Indianapolis.

And meanwhile, another Jerry AngeLOW first-day draft bust reach (Danieal Manning) sits on the bench. Also meanwhile, Chris Harris is going strong with his new team. Also meanwhile, Adam Archuleta (who was the reason Harris got jettisoned) is out of the league altogether. Also meanwhile, Garrett Wolfe is on the bench unable to contribute anything meaningful (sorry to break with the "Safety" theme, but I just wanted to take another jab at AngeLOW's pathetic record of drafting first-day reaches who bust out).

Payne's only problem is that he's stupid. He runs the wrong way on every play. He's constantly out of position and leaves the backside open for a Mack Truck to drive through. He may be physically fast but he's mentally slow.

We're not who we thought we were, and we let ourselves off the hook.
McGowan has stepped up his game in pre-season and Payne has learned to tackle like a Bear- dive into the fetal position and roll at the guys legs. That won't bring down Addai, but the Bears are looking at 0-2 anyway, so why get anyone hurt. Good plan to save Grossman until the easier second half of the schedule when there is really a chance to win some games.

If Payne can bring the wood to a couple of Colt players all will be good.

That's what's up Korndaddy72. All these so call bears fans have been talking about there team like they realy like Geenbay. I don't think they know they know what die hard means. All i've been hearing is how we suck and this and that. All ya'll do me a favor when we are above .500 and make the playoffs, after this year pick another team. You are the same guy's that talk the same SH%$! in 06' when we went to the superbowl. GO BEARS!!!!!!!

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Scorpio

Let the past stay in the past for now. Even though you may have fond memories of intense experiences, the Virgo Moon sees to it that you have virtually no desire to go there again just yet. This is your opportunity to show others what you can do in a more civilised environment. Don't try to shout down someone who is rude enough to interrupt. As unlikely as it may seem, the softest voice has the biggest chance of being heard today.
