Full story: Newsday

Bushy-haired and baby-faced, 25-year-old Jay Cutler seemingly would be the underdog when matched up with rugged, Wrangler jeans-wearing gunslinger Brett Favre .

So we traded a second round pick for this guy? And gave a division rival a decent enough QB to lead their otherwise ragtag bunch to a 7-5 record? Tell me how this was a good idea. Any criticism of Pennington in the past can be laid on Favre this year? Same short throws, same inability to hit the deep guy. Except for one thing: Favre has an immensely more talented team than Pennington has.

To borrow a scene from a Sports Center commercial?
-"Brett Favre is maybe the 50th best quarterback"
--"In the NFL?"
-"In Georgia"

It finally struck midnight on Brett. The other 52 guys finally couldn't pick up the slack.

I don't think Cutler outplayed Favre as much as the defense put the team in an early hole and Cutler had a lot more leeway than Favre. Also Favre's receivers - with the exception of Chansi Stuckey - all looked and played like they wished they had the day off. It sure looked like they took one off. Media should know that whenever they tout Jets as true NFL contenders that Jets will pull a pratfall. It's maddeningly predictable. Someone could make a fortune betting when Jets are a hom favorite and everyone is picking them to win that they will always do one thing : LOSE.

Hey, if the Jets don't want him anymore, can we Packers have him back? Don't get me wrong; Aaron Rodgers is one damn fine QB, but the spark that ignited the Packer offense left the Bay and went to NY, and Aaron doesn't quite get the crowd going like Favre did. We were in the NFC championship game last year with Brett. This year, we don't have a snowball's chance in H*ll of making the playoffs. Methinks the Pack would be better than 5-7 if good ole' Favre were still at the helm in Lambeau.......

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Cancer

You may not be privy to every little thing that's going on around you, but so what? Crabs can't always be in control, but you don't need to feel insecure, either. Thanks to your electronic devices, you appear to be a little godlike to those who don't have the same access as you do at the moment. Just make sure that you memorise the important stuff in case the system goes down.
