As much as the Vik's could use Antoine, I think it would be much wiser not to hurry him back on the field. We can really use him down the home stretch.
The next three games at home can only improve Paymah and Ashers play with the extra playing time, thus giving us better players when needed to replace another DB going down. I think our bye week came at the most opportune time. Go Vik's. Get homefield advantage for the playoffs.I'ts yours if you want it!

Good time now to rest Winfield against Detroit and Seattle.

Would be perfect to have him healthy again in time for Chicago in 3 weeks, and Kurt Warner and the Cardinals coming up after that.

The longer they can survive without him on the field, the better tuned those backups will in the event they're called on later.

I dont think we need to rush Antoine Winfield back... We can beat the Lions and the Seahawks without him and even the Bears... all three home games coming out of the bye are winnable so he only needs to come back when we are 10-1 and about to go on the road...

I don't think we need him back until December. We'll need him for the Cards and Bengals for sure, so may as well rest him up and make sure he's 100% so we have him back for the stretch run through the playoffs. Detroit, Seattle, and Chicago shouldn't pose any challenges.

I'd rather see Winfield stay out longer, and make sure he's healed- than come back too soon and get re-injured which would put him out of the playoff run. Take it easy, Antoine, give the backups some good experience- and be there when we need you most....

Right, I'm no doc, but it seems like a foot would take a long time to heal (Think about the strain that NFL players put on their feet). Agree with Brett. Let him rest and then come back 100%.

We need windfield back as soon as he can for detroit and others are pro teams and anyone on a given sunday can win. We can not let up if we do we'll get beat, we got to keep gutting it up and playing like a champion team that we can be go vikings.
