Jets' Favre doesn't mind playing conservatively

Full story: Newsday

Putting the four words in the same sentence seems strange, maybe even absurd. Brett Favre , game manager.

WHAT?

He didnt manage that game. He did all he could to throw it away. Then the Jets zapped him with the electric collar.

We had a better, conservative, game manager last year, but he had a crappy O-line. Now he has made a division opponent better. Oh and we are down a draft pick.

Brett has been reduced to a game manager because he is either injured or the coaches have absolutely no faith in his ability and grasp of the offense.

Bringing in a QB two weeks into camp who has never been described as "smart" is a terrible idea. We are running a simpleton passing game and Belichick is going to eat it alive next week when we only have three days to prepare.

Its amazing how good the rest of the Jets are that they keep winning games. Well, except those two very winnable games against Oak and NE. But hey "you are what your record says your are", right? I guess it would have been nice to be a 6-2 or 7-1 team, though.

I know that this has been bandied about the last couple of weeks, but I believe that Brett is not 100%, and that is why the Jets are playing conservatively. I certainly am glad as to their position this year as opposed to last year. And because #4 is not up to par, Mangini is doing the
game managing. They can't have a bad game this week, since the next 2 weeks is on the road and they play the Pats and Titans. This could make or break their season. Let's hope they rise to the occasion.

the idea is to win games, NOT to throw the ball around to show off your arm strength. If Chad were still here Def's would still play 8 in tyhe box. Chad needed motion, deception and [plahy action just to complete a 20 yard timing pattern and he still would float the ball..... the same writers and fans singing chad's praises now called him 'noodle arm' the last 3 years as a jet.

Its a case of the "grass always being greener...".

Have a weak armed quarterback (who actually got us within 2 missed FGs in PIT to get to the AFC Champ WITH A TORN ROTATOR OR LABRUM): We need a strong armed QB

Got a strong armed QB who throws picks: Maybe we should get that smart guy back

Nobody knows what they want. QBs are important, but a bad O-line can make any one stink. It takes more than a strong arm to play QB. Lots of NYJ meathead fans tend to forget this.

The front office pinning last year's awfulness on Chad (by getting Favre) was just so they can cover their own butt for the mishandling of the Pete Kendall debacle. That move killed us. I think he was the only real difference between the 10-6 team and last year. We did plug in TJ for Curtis though, but that should have been a wash

agree that Kendall was valuable to the Jets. But he never made a all-anything team but wanted to be paid like he did. I was always a Chad fan, but I also remember the hits Chrebet took going after those floaters over the middle. Favre's short passses are all low fastballs.
the Fins have a great running game with weed-free Williams. Soon teams stack the line again and dare Chad to beat them. No one ever questioned Chad's head...but you can't coach the abilty to throw a 30 yard out when you need it and Chad never could. With Favre you can take some hits down the field AND have a move the chains
drive. With Chad ALL the drives were the 15 play variety and a lot of 3rd and long draw plays...

It will a tough 3 weeks playing the PAts on short week (thursday) and then Titans. The Pat game is only ono the NFL newtwork

The bottom line is this. Chads years here were numbered. Was he a good QB, yeah, did he take us to the playoffs, yeah. At this time in his career, was he going to take us any further, NO!

Is Favre older yeah. Is he still as good as most QB's in the league, yeah.(If you say no, tell me 10 who are better. That's not even half the league)
Can he do as good a job as Pennington, yeah. Can he do better then Pennington, yeah. Will the younger QB's on the team like Clemens and more importantly Ratliff benefit better from having Favre as the QB as opposed to Pennington, WITHOUT A DOUBT!
So it's pretty simple, why continue on with mediocrity, knowing Penningtons years are numbered, he's coming off two shoulder surgeries, and is always on the IR. When you can get the same if not better production out of Favre, who is NEVER on the IR, and can actually teach your young QB's a thing or two.
HMMM, lets see, a year or two of a multi season MVP, Super Bowl Winning QB, or a year or two of Pennington?

Yeah I can see how your brain is cramping. That's a tough one!

Go to NFL.com , Brett has only a 3.3 % interception rate one of the best of all QBs ever, take 300 and divide by 9000. Go ahead and check all QBs that have played for 10 years plus and check for yourselves. Favre is by far the best ever when all things are considered.

I can see where you're mind is getting lost. Here, ready I'll help you out.

Marino played 17 seasons. But he didn't start every game his rookie year, he only started 11. So that's 5 games missed right there. Then the strike year in 1987 he only started 12 games so that's another 4 games lost right there. And when you add in the 23 games he missed in his entire career due to injuries. That's 32 games missed. The equivalent to 2 seasons. So really he only played 15 seasons.
Who has NEVER been on the IR?- Favre!
Who owns ALL of the QB records that Marino used to have?- Favre!
Who is a Super Bowl Winning QB?-Favre!

And Montana missed 74 games in his career due to injuries and other reasons. The equivalent to 4 and half seasons making his career really only 11 and 1/2 seasons.

As much as I love both of these QB's, I just blew gigantic holes in your argument.
I'm sorry, why did you get all quiet? I hurt your brain with all that information didn't I.
It's ok. Retards are people too!

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Leo

Be choosy about who you spend time with today. If you're with someone who's habitually miserable or sorry for themselves, you'll soon be dragged down to their level and will struggle to recover again. However, you may feel such sympathy for their plight that you don't see you have any choice but to be with them. If so, do your best to remain positive.
