This is bullshit!!! It is just a way for the county to make money from it so it will just make the stuff cost alot more just to cover set up fees and the 100 bucks for a business license!!! Beans are already selling for up to 100 a bushel!!! I can buy it at the store cheaper. I have suggested setting up in a business lot and take a set donation for the stuff. You wouldn't be selling the produce then! LoL!

It makes a lot of us drive up the road to get produce where the can still sell as they please, with no interference form the police.

I understood that the county recived some sort of "Farmers Market" grant years ago and used the funds to pave the county parking lot next to the Masonic Hall in downtown Greenup. I thought the grant mandated that this parking lot be used in the future for a free farmers market. I don't remember it being used one time for a farmers market. If not, will the county be required to give that grant money back?
Now the judge executive wants to force everyone to use the new locatation so farmers are forced to pay Wurtland a business tax. Why is the fiscal court so quick to sell out our citizens to the city of Wurtland (example: Wurtland Lloyd Sewer here on Topix). Can anyone shed some light on this? Why is Wurtland controlling our fiscal court?

The Daily Independent said the county might condemn the disputed Wurtland property and just take it using eminant domain. Maybe they plan to use the "farmers market" ploy again to get what they want, just like the paved parking lot in downtown Greenup before. After it's obtained under this pretense the county might use the property for something totally different and never mention the farmers again.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Scorpio

It's a frustrating and rather disappointing day because you have to cope with delays and setbacks to your plans. A travel arrangement may have to be postponed or there could be a hitch about something connected with education. You're also feeling subdued and tired, and you're longing to spend some time on your own although this may not be possible. Don't worry, this difficult mood will soon blow over.
