It's been all Hollywood hype until now. British comedian Ricky Gervais gave us the truth about his big-screen debut while on the set outside Cobblestones yesterday.

I personally think this is going to be a great "opening doors to Lowell." Another good reason to keeps our "Old Mills around." People like the realitly of our little old city. It stands out to other cities. We should be proud, but we should also be working to keep our city open to bigger "Doors of Opportunity".

A great showcase for Lowell as Mr. Gervais is a huge star. His accomplishments aren't always known by most people, but when you look at his resume and all his accomplishments he is quite the Hollywood heavy hitter. I fully expect this to be a hit movie and a subsequent hit for Lowell.

I've been trying to follow where the movie has been filming since it began production. I have taken many pictures of the wonderful transformations of the buildings that make up our great City as I work in the heart of downtown Lowell. Of course, I have tried to catch a glimpse of the stars appearing in this film. Unfortunately, I have yet to see any of them up close and personal. :( I can't wait until the movie comes out so I can see how our fair City appears altered. Thank you Mr. Gervais for choosing Lowell. This is all very exciting.

Ricky Gervais is a comic genius. I have been a huge fan of his since the Office season two on BBC America (I had missed the first season of the Office so I saw the show out of order).

I personally think he is a comedy genius however if his career did dried up he could always be lookalike for french composer Achille-Claude Debussy.
