I am just starting South Beach today and of course have loads of questions that I have either missed or is not listed in the South Beach Diet book.

I was wondering if I can have all of the tea I want? And does it have to be caffeine free?

Also, diet pop? And does it have to be caffeine free?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You may have tea, just make sure it is sweetened with artificial sweetners and you are allowed all the d drinks, but I would limit it to 2 a day. Go with cafeine free if you can. The diet is great and you definitely see results.

I started the south beach diet 2.5 weeks ago. I lost about 6 pounds the first week, but only 1.2 pounds the second week. I had to go to gym in the second week to get that loss. Now I started phase 2, and my weight starting climbing !! I was following the diet by the etter and I did not even cheat !
Did this ever happen to anyoneelse, or is it just me ?

I just started the south beach diet five days ago. I haven't started seeing any difference just yet.(other than the 3rd day I felt pretty bad, but that has now gone away). Can anyone tell me how long it took before they started losing the weight?

Hi there.. asmith, I had the same exact questions, I was glad to see someone else did too.. i am dying without my Diet Dew!! How are you feeling? Have you noticed a difference? I started this on Monday and I feel so much better.. really tired though.

hey Kristi... this is Stacey....I hope you have felt a difference by now, i love this diet.. I love that I am not starving! I have had a couple of "bad moments" craving potato chips.. but I keep telling myself that " my size 7's feel better on than Salt & Vinegar chips taste"

To all just starting the South Beach Diet: I have now been an the diet over 5 months, have lost 35 lbs and feel great. My wife and some of our friends are also losing weight with the diet>>>stick with it and you'll be glad you did.

I started SB 16 days agao and i have lost 10lbs. I am going to stay on phase 1 for 1 more week.

I have been on the diet for 6 weeks and have lost 33.5 lbs. That is alot in a short time. I only lost 2.5 lbs last week. That is a more reasonable weightloss. I answer to the question. Try to avoid caffeine as much as possible. I only drink 1 cup of regular coffee per week. Saturday morning and thats it. I really do not miss it. Drink as much water as you can. I use crystal light in mine and drink 6-8 bottles a day. Whatever you do, do not give up!

A co-worker and I have just started Sb on Monday. We weighed in on Monday and said we would do that every Monday. Well, we couldn't help ourselves and weighed ourselves again today...we have each lost 5 lbs already (in 4 days)! It is so much easlier than I though. Before I started this diet, All I ate were carbs, but I am not having trouble staying away at all!

yes, it is bad!! fruit is sugar, no sugar in the first 14 days. it will just slow down the amount of weight you loose and how quickly you loose it.

Iam on the fourth day of the SB diet. So far I love the food choices. But I noticed that the 1st two days I felt really lethargic, and this morning I woke up with a bad cold. Is that some kind of detox? Has this happened to anyone else

I have done South Beach in the past and lost 20 pounds. I have since been off the diet and have been maintaining although I would like to lose more. I seem to be having a REALLY hard time staying on the diet for this round. Any suggestions other than sticking with it?

I am on day 7 of the phase one section. I have followed the diet religeously. Why have I not lost any weight? I previously ate only whole grains, low fat meals, and lots of vegetables. I am so discouraged!!!!! What am I doing wrong?

Today is my 1st day of SB. So far I had:
Breakfast: Egg Quiche with spinach, low fat cheese & egg beaters.

Drink: Tea with a pack of splenda

Snacks: Celery stick with a spoon of reduced calorie peanut butter.

Lunch: Steamed Brocolli and cauliflower

Snack: Laughing cow cheese (one cube - low fat)

Drink: To-Go Crystal light drink

I do feel little tired thou but I don't want to give up.

Started a week ago and have only lost 1 pound-A bit discouraged but my shirts fit a long better and I do not feel bloated so I assume something good is happening-Foolowing it really well, but think I need to focus on lean meat better-I also have an alchohol drink every night (no carbs in the drink). If that is what is causing the zero weight loss, I will probably not continue!
