This is the best news I read all week! Too bad Old Spaghetti Factory couldn't be lured into rehabbing one of the old warehouse buildings in our city core.

This is horrible. Pasta has carb's, kids will get fat. Wait until they go to the doctor and get the bad news. People will do anything for money. Why can't they be like be and get on the govt. dole and collect $$ for nothing and fat chicks like DN for free? This is not good REVENUEGENERATION

I think its great, although, its okay for the Old Spaghetti Factory to come to Redlands, but not a Super WalMart...very interesting in my humble opinion.

Finally a recognizable restaurant within the city limits (sorry, Citrus Plaza doesn't count). I hope they do well.

Now if we can rip down the mall and get 3 or 4 more good places to eat downtown on that lot, we might have something.

A mediocre establishment, at best. However, I am hopeful that it will be successful. Probably as good as Applebee's.

Dude, it's not the same. Eating establishment VS crappy ghetto attracting store.

I welcome a Spaghetti Factory. Last spaghetti place I went to was upstairs at Romano's on Orange St.

Food was poor. Service adequate. Decor fair. Silverware - cheapest restaurant. Glasses - plastic. Price - high for what you got.

I hope that this spaghetti chain provides competition to either improve Romano's or put it out of business.

This is horrible...

Didn't these people check with el dope-o, facts slayer, meth head, or the Incan Imbicile?

Redlands is on the brink of a financial meltdown, all is doomed. It's them city workers, you know. Theeeeeeeey're the ones behind Slim Piggins closin' down. They all drive Bentleys, ya know. Got 22" Dubs and limo tinting too!!!

Save yourselves, Old Spaghetti factory. Declare bankruptcy now and avoid the pain. You're going to be one of the Redlands 40% with boarded up windows. 15 banks foreclosed on Spaghetti restaurants in Redlands today alone. Move to Iowa where you can hire workers for a can of tuna a week. That's how you run a business.

Must... destroy... revenue... streams...

This reminds me of the last economic downturn when Cunningham and Company brought Lowes in when the City finances went vacationing. It was a Hail Mary pass to shore up a lack of planning and econominc insight only to fall miserably short. Here we have a repeat...Yes, The Great Spaghetti
Factory will save the City. When all the morons had to do years before was attract sound businesses. Don't forget, Spaghetti Factory was here before, but the City didn't want to give up a few parking spaces along the precious boarded up Orange St so they left. Where is IN-n-Out? Going to Highland and not Orange and Colton. Typical Redlands. Where is Victoria Gardens and the Mills? Not in Redlands where they tried to set up shop initially.
Well at least we have something in the Donut Hole with no thanks to our current council.
And the Life Long Politician wants to run for a State seat after proving she can do nothing after 16 years on the council.

Thai House in Redlands...yummmmmmm, now I'm craving Thai food at 6 am! ;-p As for the Old Spaghetti Factory, never had their food, but anything has to be better than the restaurant that was there before...Slim Pig N's or whatever it was called... Redlands is in need of some good Italian Restaurants. If I'm craving Italian food in Redlands I usually have to settle for Mona Lisa's, which definitely has good food, but it's fast food, not a sit down restaurant. So, looking forward to trying OSF...

It's easy to write that stuff, but most of your facts simply wrong. Mills never planned to come to Redlands. Victoria Gardens followed Mills. Nordstrom did a serious study and decided that there was enough discretionary income to support their store. In-N-Out is already nearby on I-10. Highland meets their demographic and serves this end of 210.

Double check your facts.
Redlands first, then Colton and settled on Ontario. Nordstrom's was part of the mall plan west of Pharaoh's. A plan at attempting to block the Citrus Plaza project, but with no real backing or fortitude.
Bet I've been hear longer Mr. Octagenarian

Oh I nearly forgot.
In-n-Out. They had been in serious discussion to purchase the property at Citrus and the Boulevard and also at Colton and Orange. The later within the past 3 years. The City couldn't close the deal.

There you go with your revisionist posts again!!!

Both Victoria Gardens and the Mills researched Redlands before moving on. The problem wasn't location, as Citrus Plaza has proven nicely, it was an anti growth council that refused to get along with the property owners in the county. We had the whole thing sewn up except for one thing... Billyboy didn't want a movie theater. The whole thing went bye-bye because of THAT!!! And neither would these projects come to Redlands today, but for different reasons. We now have imbiciles who don't know how to recruit business and promote the city. Instead, their moronic attempt at REVENUEGENERATION (that's for you, facts slayer) was an illegal attempt to raid a city dept's coffers for $2.5 mil a year. Once their stupidity was exposed, they abandoned any thought of new revenues and we're now back to the Billyboy failed paleolithic tactic of employee bashing.

In-N-Out had also seriously explored Redlands, as well. For years, in fact. This was when Highland hadn't developed to the degree they're at today. Isn't Highland stupid, el dope-o? Developing retail sales in their city and building fire stations? And with their home improvement chain so close to ours. Boy, they really blew the "demographics" there, Methboy. What imbiciles!!!

Then there was the recent Redlands Spectrum debacle. Pharoahs would either be gone or close to it if the council knew how to play nicely. Instead, zoning changes were too much to ask, and another opportunity went down the primrose path to success elsewhere. Those developers will make their money too, just not in Redlands.

So now we get to debate a Super Wal-Mart after destroying a pharmaceutical chains plans.

Keep up the mindless posts, idiots!!!

I don't have to check the facts. I was on the other side from Redlands.

The issues were price and demographics. calculations are different for a higher end department store than for a hamburger joint, but those are the facts you need to assure a return on equity high enough to justify risk.

Cruise Citrus Plaza. You'll see low-middle franchises. That matches the Redlands area demographic.

If you run the numbers, they simply don't work.

As far as your bet - <<Bet I've been hear longer Mr. Octagenarian>> You win.
