To me it is determined by the proximity of fla: the old original crackers from central north would say pecan, then the ones from the central to southern tip, would say key lime..

It's called adding a little fun your day.
i have also debated a few school kids on here on what would happen if you put a cat egg in a dog or mixed a cat and dog or something like that over on Biology. Just for fun.

You are singing our song, if only we could have those days back again! You did mean buttermilk cultured from the daily milkings and pecans shelled on the front porch me in a swing and mom in the rocker?

On the tire swing, the one on the side of the house (not the rope swing by the lake, yet!)Grama in the rocker, mom making sure everything in just right, got to keep an eye on the pies, no burnt crusts in this house. I remember running thru Grampas giant sunflower garden that seemed to touch the sky..... and the sneaked sips of his homemade wine, I was his offical taste tester! I miss my gramps, born in1901, never had a drivers permit until he was in his 60's!

I'd like to try that.. that Buttermilk pie. To go back to the days before I was born, when life was actually simple for a change would be refreshing.

Every time I bake the stories flood my mind, I can remember my Grama teaching me to make gravy, biskets, and the BEST mashed potatoes you ever had the pleasure of resting on your little ole taste buds! YUMYUMYUMMMMMMMM, and the pies.....we would wait the whole day just for thoses pies, if heaven has a taste I'd imagine it'd taste like my sweet potatoe pies.....

With sweet potatoe pie, try a pecan pie type topping, but the Buttermilk is my all time favorite, Grama put buttermilk in lots of her cooking, yes she made it herself along with her own butter and cream thats when people and food were real.........

I think we should always eat desert first so there is plenty of room for it. When my dad was alive he use to take us out for Banana splits for dinner some times. Other times he would say this is good night to have a banana split for dinner and he would go get all the stuff to make them.
My sister in law who was one of those always eat healthy mom’s would freak but when you’re out numbered you just have to go with the flow.

I was wondering, is anyone in this forum actually from Sopchoppy?
I have a lot of family there, and know a lot of people in that small town. I went to school there for a long time, also.
So, I'd love to chat with someone from Sopchoppy!

Anyone?
Hello?
