Remember when DD first opened. 52 varieties made fresh every 4 hours. The coffee was good. We used to go to the one next to Zayre's on Church St.
These days we go to the one in Tyngsboro. The coffee is usually weak and the donuts are cold like they have been in the frig. That's when they have donuts. Sometime they run out, they don't make them on property anymore. I've been there at 8:AM on Sunday morning and the donuts were sold out. Still, they ate Krispy Kreme's lunch and they'll do in Top Donut too. |

Top Donut is a great place for a good donut and cup of coffee. I think its great that they are expanding, its just that the last time I was there, they didnt accept credit and debit cards... Maybe I would actually go there again if I didnt have to worry about having cash on me.

Top Donut's coffee puts Dunkins to shame. Their muffins are always fresh too!

Its true, Top Donut's coffee is better than Dunkin Donuts... Maybe its because they actually get your order right, or the coffee is actually hot, not somewhat warm, or piping hot. I can't stand the overpriced, crowded, rude chain store. I caved yesterday and went to a D&D, and guess what I should've just sucked it up and waited for lunch. I for one will continue to patronize Top Donut for as long as they are around, unless they get bought out by the super chain..

Top Donut does have great coffee and definitely blows away DD! One would think that DD being a chain, there would be consistency with all their coffee...if I hit 10 different DD's, my large regular hot coffee ALWAYS taste different.
Unfortunately though, for Top Donut it's the biggest pain in the a** getting out of their Aiken Ave location..try taking a left out of their parking lot...if it's not first thing in the morning or late afternoon, it's not worth the hassle for me to get in and out of there for a good cup o' joe. Their bridge street location will be no better...that entire strip of Bridge St is constantly bottlenecked. Unless you are heading up Bridge toward Dracut, Top Donut isn't that great of a location there either. I just don't get why of only 2 outlets in Lowell, they are putting them a mile away from each other. How about one on the other side of the river? In any case, best wishes Top Donut in being successful with your new venture! |

DD burns it's coffee regularly. That is why it tastes so bad. Almost like bleach. Every once in a while you get lucky and get a great tasting cup of coffee there. Their donuts and muffins are "OK"...could be fresher and their bagels are blah!
Their service generally sucks. I can't figure out why they never listen to what the customer says. I mean, it's the bottom of the barrel type of job and there's nowhere to go but up so put a little effort into it. Also, the managers on duty watch these idiots and say nothing and don't improve the customer experience one bit. I was at the DD on Bridge St at 8am Friday morning and there were 2 girls smoking outside...1 working the counter and a line of about 12 people waiting. The 2 came in from smoking and were chatting for a few minutes before opening another register. |

Seriously, Go to to www.greenmountain.com and order the K cups. You can but the single brewer for about $100 and a case of coffe for $40 (100 cups). It's the best tasting coffee and is always perfect. Brews 1 cup at a time and saves you money. I like it way better.

Just so ya know, if your facing the entrance of the building you can drive left past the concrete blocks and there is a small street that will take you to a small street called Island St. Its only a block long and it will let you out onto Lakeview Ave which is usually a little bit less crowded than Aiken Ave. Hopefully that helps anyone who cant easily take a left onto aiken. |
