Another Albanian Place
|
Yet another phony Italian restaurant owned by Albanians who hire Latinos to cook...this time in Bethel. I noticed that they covered the chef's background in this article, while blatantly leaving out where the owners were from. It seems that Jonnie Bassaro (food critic) is only interested in covering Albanian-owned Italian places. Maybe, for once, he'd be interested in reviewing Italian restaurants owned by Italians. I think he's got a guilt complex. BTW, where's the link to this story in the main page?!

Who cares if they're Albanian. Looks like there is a trend: Albanians immigrate here, legally, open nice restaurants, and work. I certainly have no problem with that! Can't wait to try the place. I feel for all restaurant owners right now though---business must be slowing down. We eat out even less than we used to, which was once a week on the weekend. Frozen meats are making their way back to our grill and stove. And less of it- who needs to eat such large portions of fresh meat every day anyway. We don't. Anyway, good luck to Per Tutti, and welcome to Bethel. It's a good town.

The portions are huge, and they do know how to make NY pizza. Not that Bethel needs another pizza place to add to the 25 that are already here, but the pizza is good and it's not the greek-style that Bethel is used to. I'm not fond of their red sauce - it's way too sweet and chunky. This place will give Tonelli's a run for their money - they are similar in fare and pricing.

Their food sucks. I was hoping for a good place to go so gave it a shot but was seriously disappointed.

What's her name...Gretchen Hirshbaum? or something? LOL!

Another heartwarming free advertisement for a local restaurant. What a surprise?

I've been there 5 times since they opened, and I'll probably go back this weekend. The food and service are excellent, the place is clean, and they are very friendly, and have years of experience. Obviously the volume of business they are already doing speaks volumes about the place. Who cares where they are from, and why should it matter? I'm sick of the drivel that some people on this board manage to spew into every post. As usual, their comments are completely irrelevant. You won't eat there because you assume they're Albanian and they don't know how to cook Italian? Good. One less person in front of me while waiting for my dinner.

I wonder why the NT did'nt mention that tony worked at Bruno's pizza in New Fairfield for many many years? Could it be that all his pizzas are excatly the same as Bruno's. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just thought it was worth mentioning. I ate there twice, not bad. That being said, I don't think Bethel needs another pizza place. gezur!

By far the best Pizza around. The service is good and the people are friendly. When you see so many repeat customers, that should tell you something.

Went there a few weeks ago. Tried the pizza and it was average. Not much flavor from the ingredients. Good thing for garlic salt and parmesan cheese. Didn't care for the sweet tasting tomato sauce.

The place is terrible and you have to pay to park. Plenty of free parking at other restaurants.

We have the Husky program for poor families needing medical care - why not have the Cheapo program for people who can't afford parking at restaurants?

I haven't eaten at this restaurant yet, so I'm not entitled to comment on the food or service. But for the record, I thought it should be mentioned that Jonny Bassarro is a woman.
