Hi. Marine Park is nice, but it's certainly not Brooklyn's largest park. Has anyone ever heard of Prospect Park?

I grew up in Old Mill Basin and while it's a nice neighborhood, honestly the commute to Manhattan is brutal. 1 1/2 hours at least by express bus. And, the Q train is not at all in this neighborhood. It's a long ride on the 100 Bus to get to the Kings Highway train station.

They don't mention it, but South Shore H.S. is closing soon.

FYI.. Marine Park IS larger than Prospect Park.(See below)

At least we don't have hipsters or yuppies living here like in other parts of Bklyn.

They're discussing mainly what is sometimes referred to as New Mill Basin, not Old Mill Basin/Flatlands.

The driving commute is 35-40 minutes with minor traffic. The ride to the Q train via B100 is on average 20 minutes, then another 15 on the B train. These are all best case scenarios but they happen quite frequently.

Also, South Shore is in Canarsie. It is the closest public high school, but Mill Basin residents usually attend Madison HS or Midwood HS, in nearby neighborhoods.

Well, coming from one of the most undereducated, largest HIV populated States in the union, I would say that your assesment of New york, with it's treasure trove of fine art, artists, finance and industry, would be along the lines of what we could expect from one of the poorest excuses of a representitive of your region
