Danbury food inspection report for July 23

Putnam has sure ruined the Amber Room.

Yahoo to Cortina's....you are the best restaurant in all of Fairfield County. Sam you are the man! Belly Dancing, Salsa dancing...what a great place to enjoy dinner, desserts, drinks and a show...or dance.

That Windmill Diner is dirty at the tables too. Too bad Health Inspector doesn't look outside the kitchen!
Don't eat there, you'll be disgusted.

I wish the News Times would publish the scores for other towns.

Judging by what the place looks like every time I've been there visiting I wouldn't want to be a patient there either. The whole place is just nasty!

Hi, Captain Oblivious. Um, it IS on the inspection report and it IS in Danbury.

What I don't get is why 2 places had reinspections due to prior failures, failed again, and all they get is a warning? Um, something wrong with this system? We will give you 100 chances to get it right....

having worked at Danbury Hospital for over ten years, I can tell you it's a very cean kitchen, espeicially where the food is prepared and cooked. Not so much the baker they had back then, she had science projects growing in frig, but thank God she was changed from that position.
some of the cooks are more than conciencous about their jobs and do them well, which includes and not short of keeping the area safe and clean

shop rite in brookfield gives the health inspectors FREE GROCERIES!!! i've seen it done a few times!!!

How often do we have to tell people? You can look up Brookfield, Bethel and Newtown now! It's on the newstimes site!

Certain items result in AUTOMATIC FAILURE, as noted by the asterisk.

That's why you sometimes see REINSPECTION REQUIRED or CLOSURE WARNING ISSUED even if an establishment otherwise achieved a high score. I think you could get as high as a 96 and still fail due do an automatic failure item (4 points)

I wouldn't eat at Widow Brown's simply because the sign out front scares the s**t out of me, the he/she looks like a transvestite! I don't even want to know what the servers look like in there?!?

What the heck is an unwholesome food item? A cat? Close that dump down!

Maybe I am crazy, but health inspections are not new. These restaurants know at some point they will be inspected.....So I say this to all restaurants managers and owners....DO YOUR JOB...make sure your place is meeting all health standards, hold classes to teach your workers proper hygenic practices. There is no excuse for getting any score below 95. Also, how about bringing ICE around with the inspectors for all those working illegally.

I believe cat is considered a prohibited food item but certainly could also be unwholsome if not fresh.

Why are the hispican restaurants so dirty? Are they really too stupid to keep their places clean?
