Congratulations! You are to be admired and hopefully, motivate others to get healthy too.

Hopefully this will motivate me!

Congratulations! I was glad to read that you did not think 175 was obese. Some that lost weight talk as if 150 pounds - 180 is obese. Yes it is overweight but the stigma that you have to be in a size 4 - 10 size is downgrading to a lot of women. Very good article and Catie seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Very incouraging.

Congrats! Problem is, Weight Watchers is expensive and many people cannot afford their rates. We attempted to start a Weight Watchers program at the community college where I work, and the cost was way over what the students and most of the staff and faculty could afford, and Weight Watchers would not "give an inch" on their prices! Weight Watchers does work, I know many people who swear by their techniques. Weight Watchers does need to get real on their prices. In this day of economic disasters I would think that health programs such as Weight Watchers could make some adjustments in their prices so more people could lose weight and "get healthy."

So, How much did Weight Watchers pay the paper to run an ad that looks like a legit news article?

For those wanting an online weight loss program, try SparkPeople.com . I would describe the site as one that offers many of the same options that WW does, but it also has a great community support atmosphere. You can even build your own page, similar to MySpace. The best feature - it's free.:)

Ture motivation comes from within...and you have plenty of it! Her story is a great success story...you can do the same! |
||||
maybe Barack will start a social program to pay for it for you! maybe the grocery store should give you free food! maybe if you want it bad enough, YOU will make the sacrifice to make the change..... |

Compairing the before and after pictures. I think she was prettier before she lost the weight. Her face was warmer, the smile friendlier and she didn't look so severe, as she does thin.

agree..... |

I'm glad this person has been able to be successful - I've heard good things about Weight Watchers. Everyone's own situation is different, but I know I'd feel thin if I got down to a size 12 - a size 12 is not big - it is average. Of course some people have a bigger bone structure or are taller/shorter than others, and this can literally and figuaratively "weigh in" as well, but for a lot of us, 12 would be thin.

This is Catie from the article, and I am a real person who lost weight with the program. I was just so excited that I found something that works for me, and owed credit to them. It was not a fake story, look at my pictures! Don't be so quick to judge. I appreciate all the comments everyone!! |
||||
You know, I agree somewhat. I think it's the way they were printed. They took the pics of me after, and I had given them a copy to use for the before. But please don't judge on just those pics. I have a bunch from my vacation that look so much better :) |
||||
Excuse me?!?! I don't appreciate that. |
||||
It is a little extra,$40 a month, but think about the cost of the doctor bills when a person is overweight. Trust me, I was glad to sacrifice the short term money for the long term lessons and lifetime support. |

Catie: There is always some that think they have to be cute in their remarks. It makes them feel BIG. You look and seem to be a very nice respectful lady that is happy with her accomplishments. Keep up the good work and don't let those negative remarks bother you.

The online programs really can help too. I lost almost 50 pounds using a program called Performance Diet Pro (it's been a few years, I don't know for sure that they're still around). Really, anything that helps you keep track of everything you consume can help- and a program that focuses on what types of foods you eat (not just the final calorie count) can help even more. Really I think it's more about maintaining your focus and intent than anything else. I did it more to alleviate symptoms of arthritis, rather than just my looks. But I like what it did for my looks too. :)
|
||||
If everyone else was thinking that, then why are you the only one who has mentioned it? Oh well, I know I look good, and so does everyone else. One bad comment won't ruin my 6 months of hard work. I am much healthier, and like I said, my family has serious health problems that are weight related, and I never want to be in that situation. |
