first off. nobody should be on a diet. it has to be a lifetime commitment. i am a vegan. people say what kind of diet is that. not a diet. just eating better. we need carbs. if i do not eat enough carbs and try to workout, i will drop. of course you will get moody. this is all about making money. to lose weight, first and foremost, we have to eat less, we eat too much. second, exercise, aerobics preferably. third, eat many smaller meals during the day, do not eat 3 hours before bed. before i became a vegan, i could not drop below 190 pounds. now i am 160, all the time. we truly eat too much. we do everything big. you can eat your pizza, ice cream, but less of it. much much less.

Lighten up indeed, probably moody from the low carb diet they are on. You are very familiar with my diet secret.....alway order diet coke with your double cheeseburger platter. |

Interesting. When my brother decided to eat low carb for health, he was able to discontinue his anti depressants. He's been drug free for 9 years now.

Yes Dale, the experience of many low carbers is actually the disappearance of moodiness and crabbiness, much sounder sleeping, and a much hightened mental energy. Of course, this is on top of up to 75% reduction of triglycerides, reversal of type 2 diabetes, and the ability to discontinue insulin and cholesterol meds. The point is not that you have to eat radically low-carb, but that you have to stop eating radically high carb, as most Americans do. There is nothing safe or healthy about the corn and syrup based food substitutes which have become the basis of the US food industry. I too often eat fast food, but always the double cheeseburger and diet coke, and never the fries or sugary desserts. It's not the fat and it's not McD's in general, its the highly refined sugar, flour and starch which are making us fat and sick, and making our mercenary medical and pharmaceutical industries rich.
