Hi everyone! Well I finished my box of Walmart cornstarch. I went to buy another box and for a couple of days I didn't. However last night I went to grocery store and bought their store brand. The texture was so soft, much softer than Walmart brand and much better than Argo. It felt so light in my mouth. It was dry too! So know I'm like definitely no Argo in plastic container......its cornstarch in the box for me!

What store brand was it? |

Hi Worried Clay Addict, a question if you don't mind? Have you always gotten your Nzu from the same source or general location? Again I'm so glad your tests showed no lead, but I've been doing some reading online on Nzu including some people who claim to have conducted independent tests and the Nzu tested did show lead and arsenic. I also read another report though that suggested it could depend on where the Nzu was from - i.e. that not all Nzu is created equal. Just thought I'd raise this - maybe your Nzu has been fine but some really isn't? Another question for anyone out there that can help. Does anyone personally know of any serious bad effects on clay-consuming women or their children that can definitely be attributed to the clay? Thanks! |

Lololol...! Yes, I am praying for more good news... But it I a good thing that am relaxed ...not thinking the lead level in me is the cause for the delay.!! Nzu has a very earthy taste more like raindrops on sand...:). However, it can be sticky but the taste and the way it melts in your mouth is worth all the stickiness...! Lolol |

Is it the best brand you've ever had? I'm enjoying a couple spoonfuls of my Argo in the box. Haven't been eating much, so this is the same box I've had for couple of weeks now. It's getting very close to the bottom, but it seems to get tastier the longer it's opened. I love to try different types when I can, but it's hard to imagine anything better. Argo in the plastic container is horrible by comparison. I was on the Argo website shown on the box and see they sell it in 50 pound sacks! Cornstarch lovers, imagine having that much on hand! |

50lbs of Cornstarch!!!! I would be beside myself....LOL!!!!!! 1. Taste is Walmart brand 2. Texture is Food Lion brand 3. Dryness its a tie between the both of them. I'm going to try and find Argo in the box at the international store....then I'm going to do a taste test between all three of them. And so I won't gain any weight in the stomach area I've been taking a teaspoon of apple cider vingear to burn belly fat....I got the cornstarch yesterday so I will c how long it last. BTW I took off the top and cut open the box and its exposed to air....the drier the better!

It must be good! I've just been scraping the bottom of my box; wish I had some more. Where are those 50 pound sacks when you need them lol!! All joking aside, I'm glad that I'm not as hooked on it as I used to be because I know that stuff can't be doing us any good. Off to get a little DE now, need something still. |

I'm at work its been raining and my mouth is watering so bad....I want to go home curl up wit my blanket a spoon or straw and my cornstarch. I'm taking vitamins but the fact of the matter is I love to eat cornstarch. I eat it in moderation over a course of about a two week period. Then there r times where I can go weeks without it......I can even take some white dirt right about now.....

Thank you for sharing this, it is good to have information so that we can weigh up and decide whether to continue/start taking certain things or not. I hope that this poor lady recovers her health. Was wondering though if you had any details to share - for example how much DE she was eating, how long she was taking it, whether she had any pre-existing health conditions, whether her lung problems were proven to have been caused by the DE, etc? Speaking personally, DE has not caused me any problems (that I know of anyway, and hopefully not) other than bad bathroom trouble in the past that I accept as my own fault rather than the DE itself. I mostly add water and bake the DE, and eat it in chunks, but also eat it as powder sometimes. So I'm not routinely inhaling dust from DE. I'm not recommending DE, people have to decide for themselves, but I love it, it satisfies my cravings as well as lessens my cravings for other things that may be worse for me than the DE, and I believe I have gotten health benefits. But as I said, each person has to decide for him/herself. Learning as much as possible is so important. I have read a lot on the internet about DE. One very informative fact sheet is by the State of Oregon - if you google diatomaceous earth and State of Oregon it should come up. |

Hi lady's. I see tara has post. But I want you guys to know that if you take DE in powder an not mix it with water you could be hurting yourself.. I have talk to the lady an she said she didn't feel sick until she stop taking it. DE is to lower blood pressure, cholesterol she said it did not do any of this for her. But this lady was also eating cornstarch. Me myself have had high very high cholesterol because of eating cornstarch I was feeling fine an did not know. If anyone take DE by powder STOP because it will hurt your lungs. I truly understand pica an the fight with pica some of us moving from one thing to another know that to much of anything can hurt you. It was an think still is a lady on here who fast on an about her habit (God bless you sister) she has the right idea, as I tell a lot of the lady's I talk to we can do it.. because we are not just doing it for us but to help others.

At Peckham high street you have a few African grocery stores. I think one of them is called kumasi stores. They all sell Ghana clay. They usually don't display them.so you will have to ask the shopkeeper. |

Hi all,
If you take the DE as powder it may cause lung problems. I found that when I mixed it with water and baked it, just the mixing alone would cause lots of dust. I used to hold the container I mixed it in as far away as possible to stop the dust from getting by me. A good thing to use is one of those dust masks for your nose and mouth. I was planning on getting one, but praise Jesus, by fasting, my addiction stopped. Just yesterday I did a little test to see if I would crave clay after eating some processed food. I ate some jam donuts from Marks and Spencer - they were really nice - but very sweet. Totally the opposite to my healthy foods I eat. And guess what - I craved the clay!!! This proves my point that diet plays an important part in craving clay (for me anyway). I think I craved the clay to get rid of the toxins that the processed sugary donuts produce in the body. The clay has a lot of cleansing benefits both externally and internally due to its molecular structure. |

Hi again, just continuing where I left off...
So after the donuts I ate some healing earth clay, a German brand called Luvos that is for internal use. It really helped. I had to 2 teaspoons then I had an extra teaspoon mixed in half a cup of water (the recommended way to consume it. It smelled lovely, nice and earthy when I mixed it with water, but unfortunately it didn't taste like it smelt - it didn't taste of anything. I haven't had any today because I have eaten only healthy foods. So no cravings. Here is the link if anyone want to try it. http://www.purenature24.co.uk/shop/misearch.h... I have the red pack in powder form. Going back to the DE - I also ate it in the powder form on it's own and also mixed the white clay powder. I didn't have any lung problems though. I preferred the DE chunks, but they took too long to mix and bake so in the end I got lazy and just went straight for the powder lol. I do feel that eating clay is fine. People have been eating it for hundreds if not thousands of years. I think for its detox abilities, as a natural remedy. And now that Jesus has given me the power over my addiction I can have some in moderation when I choose to - and not when it chose to- when I had no control. Hope this helps God bless |

Hi Hazel, Just to answer your request, the Georgia clay is white clay called kaolin. It comes in powder form (in the UK). In the US you can get the chunks but unfortunately, none of the sellers deliver to the UK. Here is the link where I got mine from in the UK, but there are a host of UK sites (mainly soap making sites that sell it). http://enaissance.co.uk/acatalog/info_3762.ht... The red terramin clay is a form of bentonite clay. This clay is sticky in the mouth. I couldn't find any UK site at the time that sold it, so I got mine from the US. Here is the link: http://www.shop.clayremedies.com/TERRAMIN-BAK... This isn't the clay I bought - I had the one that is no longer available - the raw clay. But this clay looks really nice and it is baked too. I might even try some myself. They also sell a powder form and tablet forms too. Good customer service too. This red clay is the clay that is most recommended for it's cleansing abilities in the world of clay, again, due to it's unique molecular structure. It is sold as edible clay too. Hope this helps God bless |
