Best waiter in town made the front page! Now you're talking! Love him as a bartender too!

Sounds like the first post was made by the person they are talking about, Jeff. He is indeed a good waiter but even more he is self centered loud and obnoxious AND he's a Ravens fan! This place is still decent compared to many other York County restaurants but it has changed a good bit in recent years. The Prime Rib is the best around and the bar specials can't be beat but the dinners are nothing to write home about.

I had eaten at Coombs on a few "business" dinners with a former employer, so when my husband and I moved into the neighborhood I suggested we go grab a bite to eat. "Their food is always great," I said to my husband. We walked in the door (bar side door), and made our way around to a table. Now my husband and I are heavily tattooed. My husbands face in particular, so we are usually use to stares (The general population doesn't realize how rude that can be) Anyway, I digress... I needed to use the ladies room, got up from the table, and passed the bar on my way. Not a customer, but the bartender (short middle aged woman with dark hair) is at the bar making comments about my husband, a paying customer and a heck of a nice guy. She proceeded to tell the two gentleman at the bar how discussing my husband was to tattoo his face (religious and cultural tattoos), and how ridiculous he looks. She must have not realize that I was standing right there, and when I politely questioned her she lied to my face and denied saying anything. I was right in front of her. Then she came over a few minutes later to take our order. At my husband's request, we did order, and the food was great as usual, but I am still offended by that bartender (you know who you are). Eventually a waitress came on duty, and that nasty bartender didn't need to bother with us any longer. The waitress was wonderful, the food was amazing, but if you don't want your loved ones embarrassed and insulted I suggest going else where. I have told everyone I know about this, and they are not going to Coombs as long as that rude bartender is an employee. Shame, because it's in my own neighborhood.

I can understand your feelings when someone acted like that, however, you have to know that people in York County are a bit 'backwoods'and not very progressive. If you are new to the area, you may want to get used to that type of inconsiderate behavior. peace

I have been a long time patron of the Coomb's. I must pass along my disapointment when my family and I ate there last Friday nite(8/6). First off the service was great, the beer was cold, and the price was right.I ordered the Aus Jour Roast Beef Sandwich. It was the first time I can ever remember leaving the Coomb's and still being HUNGRY! Years ago this sandwich came on big Kaiser Roll with ample amounts of meat. The one that I received was on a regular size hamburger roll and had about two thin to medium size slices of beef. What I got was good, but I could not help but think about what I had gotten many times in the past.
