I'm going to have to agree with Helooo<quoted text>
Maybe instead of "just chille there" you should study your english and grammer skills, then we might be able to make sense of what you just said.

Get a job. |
For everyone who replies to the "teens have no place to go comment" and say that all the teens should just go do school work or get jobs, get real. Not that I'm against it but seriously...teenagers hang out...thats what they do. It's true though...Like my friends and I would start spending time with each other and then we would want to go somewhere but we cant or we cant think of anywhere cool, fun or interesting nearby so we end up just wandering around. I think it would be good for everyone if we had some (uuhh) "trendier"(?) places, maybe some cafes, or bookstores, or stuff that we dont have to drive to...I also think it would have like a nice vibe you know? lively-ish? |

And leave people's grammar alone. It's called slang and it's not like you people never had any of your own at one time or another. It's just how people talk and express themselves ok? gosh. You should pay more attention to what he's/shes saying or your just picking on people.

I never had any problems with the kids in the village shopping district. They never intimidated me nor did they deter me from shopping in the area. I've left my convertible with the top down as well as my motorcycle and never had anything negative happen. As a teenager in the 70's, I too had few places to hang out. Local parks in Queens were my usual haunt, so I can sympathize with them. I notice that they're into skateboarding. Why can't we build a skateboard park for them like Staten Island did?

If you want subpar schools with gang influence, tattooed gang bangers, and crappy school tone send your kids to Lindy schools..the HS is the problem. Many illegal kids going now, phony addresses, and a school board that eats expensive lunches. Do your research. Nepotism in Lindy is rampant!

I cannot believe the assumptions and judgements I have read regarding the Village of Lindenhurst. I have lived here for 20 years, and I have found over the years that there are few neighborhoods that have such community spirit and show support for neighbors in need. An entire village is being condemned for the actions of maybe 30 kids that range from 13-15 years old. What about the other 1800+ students who do hold down jobs, volunteer, take college courses at age 15 and graduate with honors. I'm proud of this community and Mayor Brennan is making improvements to the youth center.

i agree...the other day i passed e hoff. and wellwood by the gazebo and there were 2 black kids dancing on the corner lindy is in trouble...the minorities are the problem.. |
|
I'm not sure if your being sarcastic but that certainly is true look at copiague and wyandanch many years ago both were very respectable italian neighborhoods. The real estate companies aren't allowed to discriminate and once one minority family gets in a white town they get their friends in and before you know it you have something worse then Lindenhurst . You get full blown ghetto crap. |

no im being ser. i c it all the time its crazy.."there" walking the streets all day |

OMG this Mayor has done nothing for this town! We need a real politician that has the balls to help this community. Why don't he get the damn kids off the streets and away from the failing business. Those people are trying hard to make a living and these kids are disresptful and intimidating to the elderly.Look how nice Babylon is they can't even put up a sign without it conforming to code. It's thriving and beutiful! Lindenhurst really is going down hill. I'm embarrased to tell anyone where I live. I have lived in this community for over 45yrs and the third generation. I have watched greed of school districts, landlords and so called funeral directors, ex housewives, firemen ohh thats our mayors. Make horrible decisions. Lets not forget Shawn get a real job and Doug who should get a real haircutm, step down already! I pay wayyy to much in taxes for this sh hole! To many absentee landlords and now the village makes it legal to rent, just get a permit! This town is really in need of a real polotician and get rid of all the friends and relatives in the town. ps I all the town officials during work hours cutting the lawn at the church. why with tax payers money are village employees using our trucks, and equiptment on taxpayers time doing this??? You can send them to my house next time at least I pay taxes! |
|
We have many minorities on my block one house 10 kids all foster. They run the streets the women never looks were the hell they are!Im sick of it! My home in Islip would fetch at 600 in this ghetto maybe 400, its disgusting how the village officials are letting it go down! Lets see houses being built 4ft from property lines, 3 stories oh its a stand up attic. Did you ever go to a village vote. All in favor yeah, yeah yeah! approved Dont build until you get a building permit. Can I build a nucluer reactor in my backyard, small circus, with a real elephant. Sure! |

The last 2 comments are spot on! This is why Lindenhurst is known as Swindlehurst! Unless the leadership chages in the schools (OMG -- what a sh hole as of late), village, etc. it will continue to go down hill! Too many wannabe politicians and leaders in Lindy -- or should I say Swindy!!!

I lived in Lindenhurst for 23 years, and i never saw what people were talking about and how bad the town has gotten, probably because i was around long enough to just get caught up in its decay without realizing it. I then moved to Virginia for 1 year, and now i have regretably moved back, and my eyes have been opened to just how much the village has gone down, and how fast it has happened. It is truely sad to see the town that you grew up in, as a shadow of its former self.

Look to your so-called leaders...in the schools and in Village Hall...the problems begin there....
Sad isn';t it what has happened to good ol' Lindy.... |

typos, you make. dumb, you are. |

You can blame our leaders, our teachers, televeision, Madonna and just about anyone else you want to, but the real truth is The United States as changed it's morals system, God is no longer First in our lives and God is a gentleman and if no one want's him, he is not going to force himself on anyone. Take prayer out of schools, kick God out of the court system, make it "Taboo" to talk about God at work or with neigbors and we wonder why our kids are running wild.
