Teens charged in theft of club's TVs - Greenwich Time

Four Greenwich teenagers were arrested early yesterday after officers found two stolen flat-screen televisions in two cars, city police said.

I'm tending to think that if you've been issued a drivers license then you shouldn't be considered a teen or juvenile under the law (and you shouldn't enjoy the benefits of that cateogization, sealed records and lesser punishments.)

If you still want to be considred a teen until you're 18, then you can postpone getting a drivers license.

That's reasonable, doesn't everyone think?

I guess these kids had to resort to crime because they aren't allowed to play wiffle ball anymore ;(

The law was recently changed to classify 16 and 17 year old as "youthful offenders" (15 and below are juveniles). They still go to regular court, but at a separate time than their adult counterparts. The thinking was that a 16 or 17 year old (and soon to be extended to 18 year olds) who commit a crime should not be punished their entire lives with a record. Serious offenses are considered separately.
