I own my own business and only had medicaid once. My lovely parents helped me. One more thing never had foodstamps either. Pit bulls have killed innocent people including their owners. How many times do we have to hear about innocent children and people losing their lives to these blood thirsty animals? Data proves that we have a lot of crime from illegal immigrants.(Obviously if they are not following the same rules as everyone else to become legal) However, I do not think that we should always come to that conclusion everytime that we hear about a hispanic person. There are many hard working hispanic citizens in the US and they are no different than any of us.

Not a bad post but you forgot; Line of Fire. You move (as the cop) so no "innocents" are in the line of fire. Or you don't shoot, it's that simple. The officer could have also shot the dog in the mouth with his tazer. Dog and animal cruelty supporters will rail me but I've seen a cop do it. Plus, I'd support him for it. But this is a bad cop. Found a detectie drunk, passed out behind the wheel and gave him a ride home. What would he do to you or me?

I still think the kid moved nto the line of fire in attempt to protect his dog. Sorry, I hate cops, but I think this one did a-ok. And to fuel my theory, you have not heard a single word about any of this since. The officer has not been suspended, fired or reprimanded in any form or fashion.

Maybe the dog was the only thing in his life he still cared about? Maybe the dog was the only one that loved him unconditionally. Who knows, but I would risk my life to save my dogs/cats...their my family too.

HALTOM CITY — The Haltom City police officer who shot a North Richland Hills teen earlier this month while firing at a pit bull had previously been suspended without pay for mishandling a possible DWI involving another Haltom City officer, according to personnel documents released to the Star-Telegram on Thursday.

Mark Anthony Limones, 30, was suspended for seven days for "untruthfulness," "dereliction of duty," "serious misconduct" and "unbecoming conduct" in the March 2007 traffic case.

The four-year department veteran has returned to duty as a patrol officer. His actions in the June 6 shooting will be reviewed by a grand jury, said Sgt. Terry Stayer, a Haltom City police spokeswoman.

Limones’ personnel file also revealed that in August 2007, he was counseled by his supervisor after a detention-facility video showed that he threw a prisoner to the ground after the prisoner spit in his face. Police Chief Ken Burton advised that Limones be "provided additional training regarding other force options available when dealing with handcuffed individuals."

According to Limones’ personnel file, he was investigated and cleared after fatally shooting a Rottweiler in March 2006

He was suspended 6 days without pay for his last actions and faces a review board for his discharging his firearm and injuring a person in the process.

In this case, BOTH officers were law breakers. Hence, the suspension. You just aren't smart enough to get it. Plain and simple. How long have you had your GED? 2 years?
