Please correct me if I am wrong....I thought I heard WLOS say they went to the house yesteday evening to interview the family and the boys were home alone again. I would think that someone should be with the boys especially only hours after the incident occurred.

Yes, WNC Native I heard the same thing. If this is true something stinks. No reasonable parent would leave children a few hours after a home invasion unless they knew the children would be ok----as in they knew the robbers. If in fact these children were left alone that quickly after a home invasion and the parents don't know something the rest of us are unaware of, I feel DSS needs to look into this situation.

Yes... You figured out the conspiracy. ACT in conjunction with WLOS made up this whole story. How did you figure it out?

Not only that I can't imagine the children after going through this wanting to be left alone. They would be scared. If it's true something is for sure not right.

As a Master's level Social Worker - what exactly do you want DSS to do? No crime has been committed by the parents toward the children. No, most people wouldn't leave their children home alone on the same evening as the robbery took place, but maybe they were reassured by the police that they were patrolling the area; maybe they believe the old saying that a robber doesn't come back twice, especially in this case where it seems they were in the house long enough to take what they wanted; maybe their customs and beliefs are different from those we have. But again, based on what I've read and seen, no crime has been committed and at age 13, you are old enough to stay home alone and "care" for a 12 and 11 year old.

The two things that puzzle me are the dog (the fact that no neighbors heard this dog who otherwise barks a lot,) and the fact that the descriptions lead one (or, me anyway) to believe these adult "triplets" were all dressed the same. How many guys do you know that will do that?

What my big gripe with WLOS is that not only does their online article show the exact address of the location that was targeted, I believe it was irresponsible of them to report that the children were at the location and were alone and that the parents would not be home til 11:00pm. Call me crazy, but to me that is just asking for someone else to target this location and the times that are most convenient. Especially would be information of great interest to a pedophile. Could it not have been stated that they (WLOS) went to the location or attempted to make contact with the homeowners/occupants, but were unable to do so??

Something just doesn't "feel right" about this whole affair.

Not saying the kids are lying.......Not saying it didn't happen......Just seems like a lot of smoke without the fire if you know what I mean!

Of course, if it turns out to be factual, my hope is that the kids will learn from it rather than suffer from it.

I didn't say a crime had been committed. I simply stated someone needs to check on these children and make sure they are being cared for properly. They should have been scared after the events of the day and should have been with adults even if a patrol car was going to cruise the area. Also, did I miss something. I know the paper said the homeowner also owned a Asian restaurant but did they say the renters of the home were Asian also?

Not long ago we looked at a house for sale that had been a type of bunk house for employees of restaurants owned by local Asians. It was FILTHY!!! Folks were still living in it, and cooking in a greasy nasty kitchen. It smeeled awful. There was no furniture except for a nasty stove and refrigerator and a few little beds. There were a couple of hateful notes on the walls that basically said the workers were to all ride together to work and if they weren't ready on time they would be fired (deported?). It was apparent the owner was getting very cheap labor and scrounging to save pennies.

I wonder if it is the same bunch.

I can say for a fact we do not eat Asian food from any resturant around here anymore. And we sure didn't buy that filthy house.

The residents of the house are Asian and there are multiple families living in this house possibly 4 or more. This sounds like a disgruntled employee/s or gambling debt type of crime.

Sounds Like it could be the exact type of situation that you have seen. These people walk up and down Hendersonville Hwy to go to work. The kids are not neccesarilly related.

Even more reason for DSS to check on the welfare of these children. After all the children were scared enough to call the police in the first place.
