Oh, so when the President says something is OK, even if, in the minds of some, even if it is contrary to the bible, it must be OK, because the President says it is!!

Obama's tepid support for same-sex marriage has no impact on current law and should further frustrate the gay community ... By leaving the issue up to individual states, he reinforces the current law and shows he isn't serious about resolving the issue by Federal mandate ... The move was purely political as Obama defined marriage as "between a man and a woman" in 2008 and is merely designed to set up Republicans as straw men.

Obama will say anything for personal political gain and is the ultimate Washington insider. He has no real convictions regarding anything except growing the size of government in your life.

I agree. This changes nothing for gay and lesbian Americans. It MAY however tip the balance in the swing states to the Republicans. In less than 6 months, we shall know.

much goofier is the idea that the bible applies to anything being discussed here with regard to civil rights in the USA. Orwellian is putting your misinterpretation of a book over people.

For starters he has done more for the gay community than any Pres, certainly more than the GOP would have done which is nothing.

You can now serve openly in the military and he has given us a greater say in his administration..

What hypocrites you all are. He stated is personal opinion, it is called "freedom of speech", agree with him or not, he has every right to state it. You are right, he is not pushing it on a federal level, and if he was, you all would be howling, so you can at least be grateful for that. And if we are going to use the BIBLE as our guidelines, then we had better start condemning our mothers, fathers, brothers, sister, ourselves for living in sin and having sex outside the boundries of marriage and Divorce, my gosh, how many people out there are divorced (50%)is the number I have heard of marriages that end in divorce nowadays. Divorce according to the Bible is also a sin, but where is your outrage for that. If gay people want to get married, please, please ,please tell me how that affects you personally, I know it offends your morals, but too bad, lots of things offend my personal sense of morals,(like bigots and racists) but that is life....try getting one!!!
