You are brainless, yes you are. You are not only brainless-you stink at guessing. Take a class on how to be a human being and stop spending so much time with your dogs or pigs.

Doctors are seduced by Pharmaceutical companies, to boost the prescriptions of some drugs. The obesity chart is so exaggerated; what used to be considered normal, is now an ALERT.

Most of the prescriptions being handed out are for welfare children; the doctors work more with parents who have jobs and health insurance.

There are healthier choices that parents can make on a tight budget. Do a sugar cleansing of the house. We did and you know what? My 4 1/2 year old makes healthy choices for grapes, carrots and apples instead of more expensive fruit snacks and other assorted "junk" foods. Clip coupons! Watch ads! I do it and manage just fine. Make up a menu for the week according to the specials in the grocery ad. Sounds silly, but it works for us. Can't be home to cook a meal? Use a crockpot. I shop every two weeks, started making a 2 week meal schedule and am not buying sugar and junk. I've cut my monthly grocery budget in half.

I cook healthy food that doesn't pop out of a package frozen or partially done, we eat plenty and none of us are fat. It's do-able my friends!

This should come as no surprise to anyone. Doctors have been pushing ADHD and psych meds on kids for the last 15 years.

A perfect example of ounce of prevention requiring a pound of cure. Parents don't introduce healthy lifestyles to their kids so they are required to take meds and be sick for the rest of their lives.

If parents weren't complete slobs who trained their kids to be complete slobs they wouldn't need medication. You've got fat parents making fat kids- through genetics AND poor lifestyle choices. Since it's too hard to change any of that, parents just start our kids on meds.

Doctors aren't completely at fault- they know most parents won't go home and do what they need to do to bring the problems down naturally. So they give the meds.

Quit eating fast food, white bread, refined/processed food and for God's sake GET SOME EXERCISE! Sell the playstations and PSPs on ebay. Ride a bike or walk for a change. And that goes for parents not just the kids.

Learn healthy habits now and live a longer and healthier life. If you need inspiration go to some nursing homes and see the 35 year old 500 lb people.

As a former teacher, i agree with the many posts that say parents need to be parents. I had 4 yr olds that only would eat chicken nuggets three meals a day (no veggies or milk for her, either) . One ate 3-5 hot dogs a day. Another, mayo sandwiches all day. One mom stopped at McD;s for a sausage sandwich for her son. (and that family has alot of cholestrol and HBP problems). The reason for overweight toddlers and preschoolers are parents. They just don't want Lil Suzy to starve if she refuses to eat for three days because you won't cook her chicken nuggets. Or Lil Johnny to scream because you won't let him have a bag of chips. Or heaven forbid, give them milk or veggies. And if the parent refuses to plan and serve good meals, fearing her child, then she will take it out on the doctor for meds to cure health problems.
