What we need to do is once they are found quilty lay some plastic on the floor and take your 44 and shoot him in the head. Bang!! its done and over with, and this way our tax dollars won't be going to cable, weights, tvs etc for the life timers in prison. I totally agree with you. BTW, my daughter is also named Faith.

Hartford College Student wrote: I don't trust the legal system in this country enough to start dealing out death. Do you really want a jury of your 'peers' to decide whether one lives or dies? Look how many people are convicted, then later found innocent.(That's not to say that there are plenty of people who are guilty who walk free... but better ten guilty men go free than one innocent man lose his life!) While the death penalty seems warranted in cases like this - at what cost? What if he didn't do it? It's also more expensive to keep someone on death row than to just lock him up forever. That includes the cost of appeals, etc. Life without parole if he's guilty. http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/article.php... http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/abstract/spe01.h... I pray that nothing this horrific ever affects you and your family. There's got to be something there for the police to arrest him. I don't see how keeping someone alive on Death Row is less expensive than execution, which should be getting the same as you gave - you shot them, you go before a firing squad. The cost of Prison Guard salaries, food, clothing, medical, dental, even an education has got to cost more than just getting rid of this blight on society. There's an old expression - "Kill Them All, Let God Sort Them Out". If he didn't kill his family, he will be rewarded entry into Heaven. If he did, well, you know the opposite of Heaven.

Plus, they found a handgun...if he's really really stupid, his fingerprints would be all over it, then he wouldn't have a chance. So curious to know what his explanation was. I do not live in this area but did hear the story on national news. When the story was first reported it was stated that the man first told police that the wife had killed the kids, tried to shot him and then shot herself before he could get the gun away. This man is such a coward in my book and then to place the blame on his innocent wife. They stated that after investigated police determined there was no way the wife fired the fire arm and charge the husband. I am not sure if this is factual or not I am just relaying what I heard.

I can't imagine why he thought he'd get away with this. Why is it better to kill your family instead of going thru a divorce? Did he really hate his kids so much that he had to kill them? I hope the general population in prison gets hold of him. They hate kiddie killers.

As a resident of the state of IL, I can tell you we do not have the death penalty, George Ryan got rid of that. If he is convicted he will just rot in prison on my money.
Why can't people just ask for a divorce and just walk away? If he didn't want to be married anymore then just walk away. Why does the plan include killing poor innocent children? I agree that he should be killed exactly the same way he killed those children.

I agree that he should be killed exactly the same way he killed those children. Because of the laws which force a man to pay for his children. These laws sound good, but they put women and children in danger from violent ex partners. I am a woman who has been married to a violent man, and know what it is to be absoutly terrified, and to leave, and then be stalked. The laws make things worse because men like this tend to just not bother after a short while, and the woman and children are free to rebuild their shattered lives as best they can, free from violence.

People should read the facts about how much it costs to keep someone in prison for life v. the death penalty. The latter is MUCH more expensive, mostly due to the appellate process. It is almost comical how most of the posters want immediate death sentences. Law enforcement can and does make mistakes. Ask any person who has just been released from prison after being exonerated for a crime they supposedly committed 20 years ago.

A 25 cent bullet to the head would solve this quickly.

The Death Penalty is in sore need of revamping. Limit the appeals to only 1, which is 1 more than the victim(s) got. Carry out execution within 1 year - that gives the criminal plenty of time to get their affairs in order and to say good-bye to their families. Execution should be the same as you gave - you shot someone, you go before a firing squad -- if you strangled them, you will be hung. As it stands now, The Death Penalty will never be a deterrant as it is seldom carried out. Too many criminals are being let back into society because of prison overcrowding. Carry out The Death Penalty and that will free up plenty of cells for the others.

Yes, taxpayers are well aware of how much it costs, but these chilren's lives and their mother's life is worth more than what we will spend on the death penalty. We let the government waste more money than what the death penalty costs. And I hope you are not that silly to think that he is innocent, shot in the thigh, while his family was shot fatally. He's bigger and stronger, if anyone is going to get a fatal shot, it would be the man...he was shot in the thigh, honey...give me a break.

After reading the response of the HartFord Student. Let 10 go free to save the life of one. First of all if one is innocent then they should not put themselves in a position where their innocence is questioned. But I feel that ALL murderers, rapists, and especially child molesters should be put to death without question. If evidence is found (like OJ Simpson) then they are quilty! Bang! i would never have a problem taking justice into my own hands, especially since I know for a fact that we have a declining , corrupt, and cowarding justice system. The families of the ones that lost their lives can rest and know that the person who took the life of the child(ren) will never be free. They do not have to worry about appeals, or parole. Even though taking a criminals live wont bring back a loved one but it can put a persons mind at ease. I DO NOT have a problem judging people who have knowingly done wrong. To each their own, but in my belief that man probably shot himself and then maybe he'll say it was self defense. Also, what kind of a person would go to the funeral after murdering their family. Can you imagine the fear in those childrens eyes, wondering what they did wrong to make daddy do this . I wish I had that man in my basement, I would give him blood transfusions to keep him alive so that he could relive the fear and desperation that his family felt before they died. God Bless the ones who have unfortunately had to deal with situations such as these.

Instead of our men and women in the military risking their lives and leaving behind their families...I say we take the convicted murderers with life sentences, repeat aggrivated sexual assaults, and child molesters, and give them nothing but their bare hands, ship them to Iraq, and IF they make it back home alive..they have pardon. Why waste ppl with ambition and love for their country?? Law abiding citizens... This is my say anyway. I know that God will judge this man, and those other lost souls for their wrong doings. But,sometimes, it's hard not to judge.... God Bless and may this woman and children rest in peace. And I pray for peace for their family.

Yeah, and now he will pay with his life. Child support probably looks pretty damn good right now. A real bargain.

Some say that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment. However, what could be more cruel than taking a life, especially that of a child. My sister (age 18) was murdered 18 years ago today while working a summer job. She was working to save money for college in the fall and her attacker was looking for a cash register full of money. I often think of how she must have pleaded for her life while he beat her repeatedly. This monster didn't show her any mercy and I have none for him. I think of myself as a Christian and I know that Bible says that I should forgive but... I haven't been able to do this. Honestly, I haven't tried too hard. If they were to set him in the electric chair I think I could flip the switch and not blink an eye. They say time heals all wounds but that isn't the case. Time just makes things bearable and you find a "new" normal. I think many people who oppose the death penalty might change their opinion if they lost a loved one in such a horrific way.
