ABOUT THE CAMP

It's one of seven wilderness camps for troubled kids ages 8 to 18 throughout North Carolina, whose juvenile justice department is the company's biggest client. The camps are the 1968 creation of Jack Eckerd, the founder of the chain of drugstores that bears his name.The N.C. Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention sees the camps as a kind of filter, catching troubled kids before they do something heinous enough to land in a state youth development center. joe Morganton, NC	Reply » \| Report Abuse \| Judge it! \| #16 Dec 29, 2007 its a pretty good camp it takes a liitle bit of freedom away but that how you straiten the kid out but its fun in some ways you get to go on trips in the summer time such as deep sea fishing canoeing on rivers in florida yea i think this would be a good experince for him or her yer out in the woods and you sleep in log cabons that you build.
