This guy should have his license revoked. He should not be around kids with a past like his. It's a privilege to work with kids and he doesn't deserve that chance.

Why is he still teaching??? If i had a student that attended Harborcreek, they would be taken out of that school until he has been fired!!

This is the most insane story ever!! This guy should NOT be in a school around young children. He is supposed to be a positive influence to them! And that is not the case here! How can he be a roll model to the kids while being in jail? So what is he teaching the kids?? English?.... NO, try again...He’s teaching, "Go ahead and assault your ex-wife, It's OK to drink and drive, Don’t worry about going to jail, you can still have a real life while your behind bars!" This is CRAZY!! Wake up people, he is in school with kids, our future!! It’s not like he is working in some warehouse or flipping burgers!! If a student misses too much school, or bad talks a teacher, what happens to them? They get expelled!! Now why should James Born still be able to teach after ALL he has done??

What if it's a BS claim? Many women try to get PFAs on men for leverage in custody proceedings.

Everyone on this thread must know the man personally from the way they have crucified him. I'm sure they all know all of the facts behind te guy's divorce. Remember those who live in glass houses... should not wash windows naked.

Look, the only thing I'm gonna say is that I really don't think she'd do that. I haven't been in touch with them in a while, but I'm surprised this is happening.

Mr Born is one of my teachers in school, he is a great teacher. He is a positive influence to us all. If you think that he needs to have his teaching license revoked then you need to go interview a few of his students. Im in 8th grade and I hate, hate, hated English until I had his class this year.
I really dont think people should be saying things about this if they dont even know Mr Born as a person, you all are just reading something that a person wrote about everything bad hes done. Dont judge people by bad things that they have done, when you dont even know all the good things theyve done.

The person who is right above me is my friend, who we both have Mr Born as a teacher. She stole the worlds right out of my mouth, i seriously couldnt understand english until this year when i was put in his class. I had always been stuggling with english. Mr. Born is amazing. he will sit down with you and explain everything. People make mistakes. Ever had a broken heart?
Maybe this is whats making him do all this stuff. HE IS NOT INFUENCING ANY OF THIS STUDENTS TO DO THIS. HE HAS KEPT EVERYTHING QUIET. The only reason his students found out from this was the paper. I know Mr. Born in person, unlike you guys, of course the newspaper is going to say all the negative stuff as they can. Its the newspaper. They just want to keep people interested. Mr. Born is a great person. Just made a few mistakes, dont we all?

So we should close all the prisons because everyone makes mistakes? Your comments are EXACTLY why he shouldn't be teaching. You see a little 'mistake' and not the criminal act it was.

If he had ANY respect for the students or the school, he would have resigned.

And if you would have learned anything in his class, you would know that English is spelled with a capital E.

I am also a student at Harbor Creek who has Mr. Born and to read these comments from people who don't even know Mr. Born makes me sick. I totally agree on what he did was wrong, but to say these things about him is crap. You don't know him, you don't know anything besides what is printed in the paper. Haven't you ever heard of journalists just trying to find a story?! He is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. He only told us about this situation once, and he was very mature about it. I believe that if the school board really thought that his license should be revoked, they already wouldv'e done it. This has been blown way out of proportion and I think people need to see the more important things in life instead of a man's divore problems.

http://www.ip-adress.com/

There are ways for website to try and guess where the user is located. My guess is perhaps the kids are using dialup connections and their access number takes them to an ISP that provides them with IP addresses that appear to be allocated to an ISP in Mentor vs. Erie.

Well, for the people who really know Jim, you would know that he is from the Mentor area and still has family there....anyway being on work release and teaching at HC is shame full. Regardless of what he tells you in class about this, you just remind him people do know what he did years ago with his student......

How can a teacher keep his job with these allagations? If he were just applying for the job with these on his record, would the school hire him? I would hope not. So the message is clear students, violate your PFA and still keep your job.
