Has anyone noticed the greater the achievements of the new board; the greater the personal attacks? Why are those who oppose the board's new philosophy of children first budgeting and fairness in our pay to play fees so "threatened" by these strong principles that they choose "flight or fight?"
We Like Kelly Kohls; and it is a proven fact that there are more supporters of her service to our school children and community, than there are members of the "close-knit" group that are working against her board policies of doing what's right for our school children and community. Thank you, Mrs.Kohls. We are standing with you and we strongly support our board's new philosophy; and the direction of your leadership for transparency in our budget and fairness in our pay to play fees.

Sorry. We don't get the "Sun." Very few people realize what is going on. If these allegations are true, hopefully specific names will be mentioned and brought to justice.

It appears that Holtrey wasn't involved but should have been more of a "hands on" person regarding fund-raising activities.

When Mr. Holtrey was AD, did he do any of this? Is he somewhat responsible for the breakdown of the fundraising system? It appears that at least partial responsibility rests with Mr. Holtrey for his tenure as AD.
Isn't it obvious that Mr. Holtrey and Mr. Baker ignored the legal by-laws and policies that were set to hold the boosters fundraising business accountable to the school districts elected officials?
And why did Mr. Holtrey and Mr. Baker run the boosters fundraising business their way, instead of the right way?
Because they could get away with it!...but why?
...because the five BOE elected officials prior to 2010 were too lazy to serve our school children and community in the best interest of all; and therefore, just rubber stamped everything that Baker/Dettwiller/Long/Holtrey told them to do at public meetings.
Not one BOE member questioned Baker/Dettwiller/Long/Holtrey; until Kelly Kohls came on board in 2010 and started asking questions, exercising strong principles of representing our children's best interest first....
This close knit community of status quo "supporters" doing business as usual, could only hold on to their corrupt power IF there were no questions raised about their unethical and illegal practices. The first "crack" in the rotten eggs came with Craig Colston resigning in disgrace; and then the rotten egg stinkers really started cracking as Dettwiller, Baker, and Holtrey followed...

Now that we know the truth;
why were these close-knit community members protesting on July 31 "against the board" doing what's right for our school children and community as a whole?
Why do these close-knit community bullies continue wasting taxpayers time and money at our business meetings "making the case".... that our new board majority should continue the same old failed leadership as our former board members and former school administrators? Like that's going to happen!

Excuse me, but Mr. Holtrey WAS involved.

During the time our close-knit community bullies were promoting school levies, based on fake budget crisis, holding parents (and tax payers)hostage over things like busing and activities;

Our athletic director, Mr. Holtrey, and our entire school staff of administrators were receiving pay raises, year after year, while spreading lies throughout our community trying to discredit the leadership of school board member, Kelly Kohls; using mean spirited personal attacks; in efforts to distract community members from Mrs. Kohls' strong leadership principles of representing our children first.

Get Real.....Excuse me, but Mr. Holtrey was (and is) involved! And, even now that we know the truth, Mr. Holtrey has lost all creditbility in our school district as a fit role model for our children and community members. Why should Springboro families and taxpaying homeowners pay the salaries of school employees who have fallen to less than the best standard of ethical practices?
Why is Mr. Holtrey allowing these bully attacks (such as July 31) to continue on his behalf for "special" employer-employee econsideration? Just because he failed to do his job as Athletic Director; and then resigned as AD to avoid questions?
Get Real! Mr. Holtrey has caused enough harm to our school districts' athletic program and the reputation of our Springboro Community. Where's the "good sportsmanship" model of accepting failure while maintaining your dignity and respect for yourself?

My question (and that of others)...was Mr. Holtrey DIRECTLY involved in the misappropriation of funds? Did he know about these things and "look the other way"?

Were his "lies" in writing and what were they and where can we find a copy? Why do I ask? So we can inform those that are not aware of this.

Thank goodness, stupidity like the above comment is confined to the "close knit community" of bullies, rallying for failure of the current good leadership of our school board representatives.

Obviously the answer to your questions can be found with all those missing financial records and thousands of dollars in unaccountable funds.

So, which one of you "close-knit" community members are lying?
Why do we ask?
So that we can inform those in authority who are investigating this fundraising business which is now under "scrutiny."

If you are responsible for something, and you do not do it, like overseeing the boosters, and making sure that the coaches are doing their fundraising properly, then it is a form of dereliction of duty.

If you are also a coach, then you should know the rules better than any of the other coaches, and not keep off the books accounts and not use the Boosters tax ID.

As AD, it appears that by doing nothing, bad things happened. The school missed out on between approximately $1.5 to $2 million over eight years from the Boosters.

As AD, along with the other ADs over the time period, all the fundraising by the students and parents, for both individual sports and Booster multi-sport fundraisers, is not accounted for.

As AD, he set the pay to play amount without being able to give a single reason for the amount. All parents who inquired were not given a response. The amount of $475 seemed arbitrary at best.

As a coach, he did not run basketball camps and fundraisers using the rules set by the BOE. The funds collected by him, and all other coaches, are nowhere to be found. They were required to complete fundraising documents, deposit with the Treasurer and spend according to rules set bt the BOE.

So, if you are the responsible party, it is in your job description, you are being paid to perform these duties and you do nothing, does that limit your responsibility? If you see someone doing something wrong, and it is your job to supervise them, are you responsible? I think so.

My question (and others who strongly trust our new board's handling of our school's financial and personnel matters) simply put, IS....

Why doesn't Mr. Holtrey DIRECTLY answer YOUR
question?

Would not Mr. Holtrey be the right person to DIRECTLY come forth IN WRITING with a COPY of his records of the proper "appropriation of funds" for which Mr. Holtrey was DIRECTLY responsible for "appropriating" properly; and in accordance to legal and etichical by-laws and polices of board authority?

Dodge Ball Game Over for Mr. Holtrey. Time Now to Even Up the
Score; so that doing what's right for our school children and community WINS over failed leadership of the past (which is still hurting our children).

Were you sitting with the close-knit group of "rude ones" that were asked by a board member to listen respectfully while other participants in the meeting were talking?...And were you the ONE who followed as minority board member, Don Miller, left his chair and walkied out of the LGI room? What was up with that smirk that you and good ole boy Don exchanged?
Were you reporting the "tally up" to Don Miller before each of you returned, separately, to your respective seats in the LGI room?

Absolutely not. There is nothing but speculation on this in order to be able to remove a coach to place a friend of a board member in the position. The removal of coach Holtrey is being done at this time to attempt to make him appear as though he had something to do with booster financials, which he did not. There is no proof, just speculation. Show the proof or shut up with your opinions that are only being put on here to protect the board from yet another means of change for their own personal agendas. So when does Don's buddy start coaching? Again we have yet another personal agenda being fulfilled while a decent man is being dragged through the dirt. You must be a very proud board. Ruin a man's reputation for your own friend's personal gain. Yet another embarrassing, disgusting move. Just wait for elections.

More speculation on YOUR part? Although he was AD during the longest time that much of this ongoing incident occurred. Not saying that he is guilty of any wrongdoing, other than providing what appears to be a general lack of oversight during his tenure.

Wow, now there's a large pile of steaming speculation on YOUR part. Perhaps you could show just an iota of proof that he was not even 0.00000001% responsible in some way for the mess the athletic dept now finds themselves mired in.

You seem very sure of yourself...very short on supporting arguments for all your speculation and opinions. I am not saying that Mr. Holtrey is or is not guilty of anything anyone is saying or not saying. Only pointing out that your support of himbefore all the facts come out, although admirable, is no different than anyone else’s speculations, opinions and question asking.

BTW…Whose reputation is “ruined”?

If it is all speculation, then where is the SAB money for the last eight years? And do you really think that Troy's BFF the police chief will be able to find it? Or even try to find it? The proof is that there is NO MONEY!!!

"Show Us The Money." Very appropriate name for this discussion!

I do see your point, Of course, keep in mind that missing money is easy to point out. Proving why it's missing and where it ended up is a big challenge.

My motive is clear (in case that has been lost in the shuffle). If a crime has been committed, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. No matter who it is.

And of course, a great football season would be nice as well. Not asking too much. 8-2 will do.
