Addressing the liberal hijacking the thread:
Well, it's your fault for voting in politicians who look away from trespassers. It is our responsibility as a nation to keep ourselves safe. What type of message does it send that people can invade the country without recourse?

It's our mistake we have to correct.

correct me if i'm wrong, the article talks about immigrant parents learning English for their kids, so this is not about illegal immigration you could be an immigrant but you be here legally, secondly the article referred to the parents wanting to learn English for their children's sake not to become citizen's and yes you are right in order to become a US you need to speak, read, write English not college English but the basic.

Read the whole article as it talks about illegal aliens! BTW, isn't sad that they live in the US legally and don't speak English? Not very American is it?

i don't think it is all about them not wanting to learn to be an American, it is all about choices. i know for a fact that when there is a large concentration of Spanish speakers, the chances for those newly immigrants to learn English is very low due to the fact that everything from the radio station, tv station to the market its in Spanish, they really have to try very hard to assimilate into the American culture without losing their identity and their culture, i know it can be done.

They should want to learn English to show respect for this country and its citizens. As usual it's all about them. Screw this country and its citizens, but if their kids want something, then they'll consider it -- at our expense, of course.

Rude, inconsiderate and ungrateful. Kick them out.

I agree, but that is the same for all of us. You don't lose your background and heritage just because you are an American! I know many people of many different cultures and they are very American speaking English to get along with the other many different cultures.

I'm fed up with caring about them keeping their culture. What about us keeping our American culture, that's what I care about. If they want to keep their culture so badly, then they can go live in the country that will give it to them. If they want to speak Spanish, then live in a Spanish speaking country. I've had it with their Victim mentality and their third world culture. Americans come in all colors, yet they're still Americans and love the American culture. If these invaders don't want that then they can leave.

Totally agree. They come here because it's allegedley better and attempt to turn it into exactly what they left, including crying about all the "racist" people here that want to keep their culture in tact have new people meld into it, including learning the culture of this country and its languae. Makes no sense at all to even leave your country if you don't want to learn about your new chosen country (or if you don't like it once you arrive).
