Full story: Washington Missourian

bikes do get in trouble ! a lot more than the skaters who blatenly break the rules by not wearing helmet and pads and sitting in areas that people are trying to ride. skateboards are the main source of damage in a skatepark due to the giant kingpin sticking out of your trucks. if breaking the constitution is your idea of fairness, then we will be in a state of anarchy. if a city builds a skatepark and doesn't allow a disipline, then by law they are required to build a seperate park for the bikes to use as well. which in turn the skaters who want to ride it can't, just like the bikers who are discriminated against now. its misinformed people that create these stigmas. everyone should get educated before they assume bikes destroy parks.

i have been skating for 12 years and every skatepark that i have been to and visited had different rules. pegs on bikes do a lot more damage than kingpins on skateboards...thats another reason parks prohibit bikes. for example i live in ohio and grove city skatepark strictly prohibits bikes...we have a 8-10foot ledge that's topped with marble. after 2 weeks of the parks opening the marble was broken by a biker with pegs on his bike...we skate the ledge all day and it hasn't broken at all, not even cracked. Bikes have more weight and force to cause damage than skateboards do. Dublin skatepark is destroyed right now because of bikes, the ledges are chopped up and worn down. The only park that i've seen rode by bikers and not demolished is Louisville extreme park in Kentucky.

Bikes have many places to ride and there's no reason bikers should have their own personal skatepark...all the bike parks i have been to allowed bikes, skateboards, and rollerblades...and i hope that never changes.

i have been skateboarding since i was 9 and about a week ago i got in trouble in Saltillo,Mississippi for skating on bank property after hours and a woman came out and started yelling saying i wasnt allowed to be there... It might be just me but isnt a bank public property. Thats all adults think is that all skaters destroy and/or vandilize everything. I just want to stop that right now that we dont all act like that. I cant say all because there are some that do. But anyway after she got done yelling i left and came back later and egged the place HA HA HA.

yeah I totaly get wat all of you are saying I have been a skater since I was 6 I have seen more bikers especialy through my travels that fuck up skateparks way more than any skate could it is a proven fact that the weight to blunt force is far greater than a skateboard could ever put on those types of ledges

now on I also have experienced what Zack has said to that is why we sometimes get a bad name is that we tend to have a more full fledged way of dealing with thing such as egging it you know but I also am trying to get something started that I need a lot of help with I am trying to get more parks that are street orented and make at least some public places such as colleges and things like that legalized to skate in and the hole helmet thing too that should be something of free will and if you honestly think that to skate some were someone that realy wants to and is tired of getting in trouble there is not going to sign a insurence policy to get to do that then you have not skated long and dont know the culture you know what I mean I just know that I am going to need supporters you know what I mean can you guys and or girls help me out and let anyone that you know that skates in on it too

Ok i too like Zack have skated at a bank in Florence Mississippi and a lady came out taking pictures of me? It was me and a few friends....she walked out side with the camera and said that we need our pictures taken and she needed out skateboards because she was going to turn us into the police.....I MEAN BEING A SKATEBOARDER AND ALL U KNOW WE JUST TOLD THE LADY THAT SHE WAS NOT getting our skateboards....the cops came and took us to city hall IN HANDCUFFS!!!!!!!! We asked that cop what we was in trouble for and he told us that we were going to jail for resisting arrest, disordorly conduct, and mischieviest duties or some crap like that??????....what the hell is that all about?
A few days later we were skating at another place and this OLD CHICK comes out with a KNIFE!!!! she told us we better get off her property NOW!!!!! And we were like WHOAAAA NOW LADY U DONT WANT TO PULL A KNIFE ON US....and she was like "i can do whatever i want to and blah blah blah blah blah.....when the cops arrived he took us to city hall AGAIN!!!! and we told him that the lady was threatining us with a knife.....and he said that she had her "PERSONAL" rights to have it for PROTECTION!!!! AND i told the cop that she could just sit there and pull a knife on a bunch of 15 year olds.....and he said that we were being a neucense and that she felt threatened so she had every right to have a knife on us!!!.....
OK i know everyone is probobly getting tired of me writing but i want you people to hear me out..
We got arrested at a Post Office for skateboarding of course.....and the cop said we were trespassin.....and he said that we can skate at any "public" place.....so we were like ok...I said ok do u guys want to go skate at the local ball park.....the cop stopped me there and said "NOPE YOU CANT SKATE THERE NEITHER".... i was like DUDE U JUST SAID WE CAN SKATE ANYWEHRE THAT IS PUBLIC PROPERTY......and that is when he told us that skateboarding was "ILLEGAL" in my city!!!!! i tried to explain to him that we were just being kids.....but that old man doesnt care about and skateboarders......ok i'm going to stop writing now but i have many many more occasions just like this.......thanks for reading guys

ok i live in grandrapids michigan and we skate board every day every were. most days we go and skate like churches and libraries becuase they always seem to have the best stuff there. most of the time we get yelled at and get kicked out. like we went to this church and skated there for like a whole week and like the six day we were there a guy came out taking are pictures and saying we had to pay for chips and craks on leges. he said there was a sign no skateboarding it was so small u could barley see it. any way he tried to make us pay like 2 grand for damage and come to find out it was already there. he already charge like three differnt skaters at three differnt times. it people like this reart give us bad names.

Most of this argument should be discarded since the majority of the skateboarders are between the ages of 4 and 15, and feel it's awesome to spout dumba*s sayings such ass "SKATERS ROCK, F**K BIKERS!!!!!" and other remarks, just because they can get away with cussing because their parents won't find out.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
