Now we need a place for kids who like to race their modified cars on our freeways late at night. It would definately save lives!

Oh my goodness at last. Thank you everyone for their hard work and dedication. It's about to pay off. We've needed another facility to ride dirtbikes for ages now. Could you guys possibly work on a new road track now, that would be greaaat, yeah. Also, thank you for opening it up on weekdays too, so crucial.

Should consider shutting off H1 and H2 and let the street racers have a drag race. Let the public know so they will be off the road during the race. From one end of the freeway to the other end. No bars hold . All out racing to find the fastest car on the island. HPD could also participate to see how their vehicles compare especially the ones with the illegal tinted windows.

Well I guess that is the end of peace and quiet at the sand island beach. What ever happened to original master plan. Sand Island was supposed to be a camping and beach area. The whole island except the Matson yard. This is sad.

Congrats Reid, glad to see your project became a reality. Now hopefully the stock-car/drag-race/road-race/ drifting community can get a tow to their finish line. Good luck gear-heads! Jeb

sure its great for bmx-er/dirtbikers but for the 4x4 off road rock climbing jeeps and tacos, you think they rather come to the trap box instead out in the open trails of nature? plus u gotta pay to play in the trap box too.

wouldn't even need this in the first place if there weren't 800,000+ living on the rock. When i was a kid there were forever places to go in the wide open. now, everything like this news story sounds so much like a "city" story. kids in the "city" got no where to go, kids in the city now have this-or-that. What's taken as an everyday occurance in rural communities now has to be a big friggin project - EIS, grants, mutli-year efforts, zoning... I know, we already have 800,000+ living on the rock so what do we do about it now other than these projects? I'll tell you what: get rid of 400,000 of the 800,000+ folks, that's what. I do my part everyday: everytime a non-resident says that Hawaii sucks, or is too small, or too expensive, or he msses the snowy christmas - i tell him "you're right! now get on back there!" Everytime i travel and someone excitedly asks me about what its like, i tell them about the crowded city likeness, expense, small crappy homes, traffic. What am i donig? I am discouraging the NEXT 800,000+ from moving here, and you sohuld, too. We got 800,000+ living there not because of over breading, but because every dingaling that gets off a boat or plane invarialby has a reflective moment of, "this is not too bad, i think i'll move here", or , "honey, it's expensive, but i think we can swing it here, why don't we try it out for a few years". and then BAM! city-lik crowded environment where now a story about a crappy small BMX track is a good news story. Sad, so sad.
Help me discouragge newcomers. Stop being nice to the toursists, idiots, all the aloha spirirt is getting you iss fourteen more newbies whose good idea is to move here and give it a go.

The idea of riding around in motorized vehicle for recreation is for lazy folks who can't run or ride bicycle fast enough .

How's about save the gas money to buy some food for the homeless who camp around there? Now, that's some real life lesson to teach your kids.

Groups like ours, the Hawaii 4x4 Association are trying to take a new approach with how these types of projects are run. Public / Private partnerships are a win win for everyone. H4x4A supports safe, legal and responsible 4 wheeling and working with the state and others to ensure that there are trails and ORV parks for all and it is done in a responsible way. Sand Island is a great start. So for all that complain, be part of the problem or the solution, it's your choice.

Now the Heepers can drive around in circles over "huge" grass hills instead of getting stuck in our trails and holding me up. Mountains is where I play, and is where I'll stay.

I am so glad that despite the slow economic down turn the state is suffering we can create a sandbox for gas guzzling toys.

Reid, Wayne, and many others, have jumped thru hundreds of hurdles to make this park a reality. Reid, who doesn't even ride BMX or motocross, dedicated so much of his time and money because he saw a need for the kids on this island. This park may not be for everyone, but it does provide another legal place for those to ride/wheel who do not wish to trespass. Its not always about us, but look what is available for our keikis now.

Dont forget the legal disclaimers that need to be signed to enter at ure own risk. Please no more lawsuits to the city and state. We cant afford it.
I can see all the vulture lawyers waiting for an accident to occur so they can sink their teeths into the city/states semi deep pockets.
Talk about killjoy.

Also don't forget to put together a clean-up team to maintain this track and keep it free of tags, vandalism and trash.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Cancer

Hold it! You need to approach things in a calm, controlled manner today otherwise you're likely to get yourself into a state in no time at all. That's especially likely if you're trying to meet a deadline because you'll start to panic and then become all fingers and thumbs. You might also get extremely ratty with anyone who gets in your way or asks stupid questions. Come on, is that fair?
