My son is on an education trip and gets his backback stolen the first day in Madrid. Nice place. Should avoid the entire country if you ask me. I will never go there.

Unfortunately, like any major capital city there are pickpocketers and thieves. It's a sad fact of life. I'm very sorry for your son and hope you will visit Madrid sometime.

There are two unfortunate generalisations here: the first blaming Spain as a whole for a backpack being stolen by some thief and the opinion that all the troubles are down to the English in Spain.

There are thieves everywhere and the majority of Spaniards are fantastic people. I've travelled almost all the continents and love going to Spain even though, in Barcelona, I was singled out by the police to have my documents checked in the street. I was the only non-white in the area. Do I categorise the police or Spaniards as racist? No. I disliked the racist overtones of what happened but I blame that one individual who selected to stop me. The American tourists who witnessed it weren't so forgiving of the policeman.

Spain is a wonderful country Go visit and experience for yourself.

He would risk his backpack stolen in almost any country. No big deal. He should have watched it more carefully. His fault.

Madrid is a nice place for shopping and see museums and there are many things to keep you occupied. But if one want to experience real culture then I would say that Barcelona and Seville have lot to offer.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Taurus

Be careful if you're supposed to be saving money, because it's likely to fly through your fingers in no time at all today. You're open to all sorts of delicious impulses now, such as splashing out your hard- earned cash on little treats or big purchases. Indulgence is the key here, and you'll also want to push the boat out if you're going to a restaurant for a meal. You'll work your way through the menu, regardless of the cost.
