A La Grange woman reported Aug. 5 that she was scammed of $2,000 she sent by Western Union to Madrid, Spain, where someone called from claiming to be a family member needing the money.

Same thing happened to me. They hacked into my email and changed my password, then emailed all my contacts asking for money to be sent to Western Union. Police are investigating. At least one contact has complied and actually wired the money.

I don't get it, the money will still go the the thief, not to you. Why your relatives will send money to someone else instead of you? Are they all dumb, nobody called before to ask: do you really need money? did you write me this message?
