One of Larimer County's most wanted captured in Spain

Dumb judge. He fled the first time and had to be extradited from New York yet he was not remanded to the custody of the court on his second appearance nor was his passport confiscated. The name of the judge should be given so one can vote against him/her if they happen to hold an elected position.

I believe it is the County Attorney who has to request the defendant be held due to him being a flight risk. The judge does what his title describes. He/she will judge as to if the defendant is a flight risk based upon the evidence supplied by the prosecutor.
So, why are taxpayers footing the bill for this prosecutor and why can't they be investigated for failing to perform their job to the benefit and betterment of Larimer County, it's residents and tax-payers?
And....who has to pay for the extradition? Should it be the CA?

Good job, he thinks he can just go away.

Maybe we should be thinking about whether to keep the DA for longer terms. He didn't do the best at keeping this guy in the country.

Yes, I too know about virgil rice. I know the people that he violated and justice definitely needs to be served here. Congrats to the person/agency that found him. I am concerned about his three sons. Two of them were with him in Spain when he was found. I pray for freedom for all he has hurt.

Sad, and maybe forsight could have prevented this flight, but you should be more careful about who you call dumb. While this is old news I can't help but comment.
First, criminal cases are public record anyone may access the information.
Second, judges are appointed by the State Gov. from three areas by the state attorney generals office. Judges then are affirmed/reelected every four year on the voters ballot you either have never used, read, or researched. There is also a state judicial comission that make recommendation to the voters by interviewing/surveying the judges staff, as well as private, and district attorneys.
How does that quote go? It's better to say nothing at the risk a appearing stupid than to open it and remove all doubt. The internet is best used as a tool to educate rather than vent thoughtless comments that enforce peoples misconception that the legislative, executive, and judicial official are beyond public retaliation through the polls.

SORRY all, that last post was directed at 'sharks' first comment 'Dumb Judge'. This is only the second comment I've ever posted in 15 years on the net. While judges are human and each with a 'style' of there own they do make mistakes on occasion. HOWEVER, they're smarter than most people give them credit for, and given the emmencely complicated, and volumous laws eash have to be intimately familuar with to do their jobs they generally do pretty well. NOTE:L You can be certain that is a difficult thing for me to say, and those close to me know I wouldn't if I didn't not know it to be true. If you do a search on my name and you'll see why.

It is amazing to me how this man is convicted but yet has never gotten a trial... yes we are in colorado folks ... the state that certainly convicts without a trial and then stuffs individuals away for good and does everything to prevent the truth from coming out... it is astonishing some one writes that worries about the mans sons and yet they are trying to win his freedom since they know the truth.... You're so drastically wrong, but I can't very well blame you if you weren't around any of the whens and wheres. Honestly, I do really truly wish that this WAS just another case of corruption in our government. I assure you it is not, and their ridiculous site is mostly just a very dishonest attempt to publicly damage and/or destroy people they perceive as enemies and/or threats. He should have just chose to man up and do the trial if he knows he didn't do anything wrong. You know, instead of the whole interstate and intercontinental flight from prosecution thing. I don't know if that's a step up or a step down from what he used to do when he wasn't getting his way, which was threatening suicide.

Convenient for him that the Tim Masters case achieved such high profile, he's managed to pick up a few marshmallows and toothpicks with which to construct something resembling an excuse.

The above truly knows the truth from somewhere. And yes, the threat of suicide was a regular event. I guess he has the time now to really conjure up some doozies. Unbelievable!!!!
