In less than 50 years, slavery was abolished in the United States, and a much closer fulfilment of MLK's dream has happened with the first black president Obama.

In Cuba, Marti's dream of freedom still far from a reality, as in half a century the only thing we have had is a ruthless dictatorship by the Castro's.

It looks like Marti's dream of freedom for his beloved native land, died with him 114 years ago.

AND FINALLY, WORDS OF INSPIRATION

It looks like the years ahead are going to be rough - very rough - for advocates of the unborn. The forces of abortion are powerfully aligned against us. In the darkest moments, it may prove helpful to recall and share these words of inspiration and to remember who first said them.

"For those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you."

Well said and a very good post! Marti's dreams of freedom have just been sleeping for 50 yrars, but Cubans are waking so. Soon we will have a free, democratic and independent coutry and the first thing I will do is to place a Cuban flag and a flower bouquet...just like he asked in one of his poems!

"Yo quiero, cuando me muera,
Sin patria, pero sin amo,
Tener en mi losa un ramo
De flores,–¡y una bandera
"I want, before I die.
Without mother country, but without master,
To have in my slab a branch
Of flowers, and a flag!
