Musikfest has added a night of country to its RiverPlace venue during its 10-day festival in Bethlehem.

Real country is good. This is not real county! The last true Country artist to play Musikfest was Lucinda Williams in 2004 at the Zoellner Arts Ctr. I was in the third row. |

Winston and the Radical one are right, This is not country like old Eddy Arnold sang, Red Sovine and Phantom 309, Tom T Hall and I like little puppies and onions, and Charlie Pride and Ferlin Husky whom flew on the wings of a snow white dove, and old Marty singing about a White Sportcoat, that was country

Real country is John Cash, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and Willie Nelson. It is Bob Wills, Ralph Stanley, and the Carter Family. Lonestar and Diamond Rio are simply pop groups marketed as country. |

I'll bet you it will not sell out quickly, and in fact will not even sell out. It's a great venue for us at Musikfest, but unfortunately it will not have the draw to sell out. I am sure the crowd will be very large and eletrifying but to sell out at Musikfest it takes more then just a venue like this one. I should know. I have been on the committee selection for the last 13 years at Musikfest. |
