Talk radio is lacking a liberal perspective

Quit complaining and turn on your tv set, you can turn your head and just listen. Pretend like its the radio. You have CNN, ABC, NBC news you can listen to.

Why don't liberals get it? There is no equal number of perspectives because no one wants to hear the lemon salesman BS of liberals. The fact is that the whole ideology of liberalism is a mental disorder. The biggest hurdle in curing this mental disease is in self recognition just as in drug addiction or alcoholism. The question is, how did we get to this point of social suicide?

On May 15, the White House Moron, in a war-planning visit to Israel, justified the naked aggression he and Olmert are planning against Iran as the only alternative to “the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

But the White House Moron has the roles reversed. It is not Iran that is threatening war. It is Bush. It is not Bush who is appeasing. It is Iran.

Iran has not responded in kind to any of Bush’s warlike moves and provocations. Iran has not sunk a single one of our sitting duck ships and has not given the Iraqi insurgents any weapons that would easily turn the tide of war against the US.

It is Bush, not Iran, who sounds like Adolf Hitler blustering and threatening. It is Bush’s American Brownshirts, the neocons, who express the view:“what’s the good of nuclear weapons if you can’t use them.”

It is the US that is funding assassination teams inside Iran and using taxpayer dollars to fund dissident and violent organizations opposed to the Iranian government. Iran is doing no such thing here.

It is members of the Bush Regime and US generals who continue to lie through their teeth about Iranian support for insurgents, for which they can supply no evidence, and about Iranian nuclear weapons programs, for which the IAEA inspectors can find no sign.

It is the US print and TV media that serves the Bush Regime as propaganda ministry for its lies of aggression.

All the war crimes that are being planned are being planned by Bush and Olmert.

What would George Orwell make of the Bush Regime’s position that anything less than a direct act of naked aggression is appeasement?

There has been numerous attempts at liberal talk shows. They just failed miserably. The reason behind the low popularity is because the liberal talk show hosts have nothing intelligent to say. Typical of the leftists, if their product cannot compete then they want government to interfere. More government interference, great If there was a market for left wing radio it would succeed, look at T.V and Hollywood, the market is there and they have their audience. Liberals have better things to do than sit around and listen to the radio, hence the lack of liberal radio programs. The conservatives have to sit there day after day after day and listen to Limbaugh and Hannity tell them how to think and how to act because they are incapable of thinking for themselves; incapable of original thoughts and ideas. Someone has to tell them how to think and how to act or else they are stuck in their natural state of perpetual cluelessness. A perfect example is Limbaughs Operation Chaos which will turn out to be a complete failure in the end when Obama is inaugurated next year.

You should be aware that left leaning radio can NOT financially exist because nobody is willing to support it. And if there is no channel to change it to, turn if off and go watch TV. The last time I checked CNN was a 24-hour news network.

Almost, the liberal talk show hosts had a lot to say, the conservative bigoted citizenry couldn't comprehend it. Read your last sentence again, stupid. You just fell into your own trap.

Liberals fail to understand human nature or even the simplest economic/business concepts. Nobody is stopping liberals from being on the airwaves. If the liberal message was truly a popular message then the listeners would be there. And if the listeners were there then so would the advertising dollars. And if a liberal radio station had a ton of listeners and a great income stream then other radio stations would happily follow this trend and it would sweep through the nation in a hurry. But history has told us many times that this is not the message that talk radio listeners are interested in hearing. There have been many liberals on the air and many liberal radio stations and Air America was a liberal radio network and they all meet the same fate - low ratings, low advertising, negative income, and finally a change of format. Mainstream Americans flock to the current style of AM talk stations because that's where they hear their own opinions voiced.

Liberals fail to understand the "silent majority", the typical tax-paying, law-abiding hard working middle class person that struggles to make it honestly in this country. These people usually only voice their opinion as a vote because they are too busy with their lives to call in to TV or radio shows and/or write letters. Liberals will never understand why Kerry couldn't win in '04 or why Gore couldn't win his own state in '00. It's because of the silent majority, and it's been many decades since the Democratic Party represented these people.

You could remove all conservatives from the airwaves and replace them with liberals, and within a few years the number of conservatives vs liberals on the radio would be about what it is now. There is plenty of money among liberals to buy radio stations or start their own with a liberal format. It's happened many times and these stations always fail. Air America failed because not that many people were interested in what they had to say - see "silent majority" above.

The Hollywood left has plenty of money to buy stations and win over the silent majority so its not about a lack of control of the radio airwaves. This issue is purely about gaining and keeping listeners.

If the left needs artificial government intervention the AM airwaves "fair" then who really would be foolish enough to actually conclude that "fairness" has been acheived. Another way of looking at this is, if there was a liberal station on the air for every conservative station what liberal would be willing to fund these consistently monely-losing enterprises? Is there someone out there that wants to burn through his/her own money year after year to fund these un-listened-to stations, or do want even more of my tax dollars to fund something that I, and the majority of radio listeners, won't listen to?

The Real Air America (from the vietnam invasion) was owned and run by the USA Central Intelligence Agency. You can't go broke when you have an unlimited flow of non-accountable dollars at your disposal.

Simply, so that the 'usual suspects' that read tese rightwing blogs can understand. There is no real need for liberal talk radio because:
1) we all learned liberalism in civics class..yep the U S Constitution.(don't they teach it anymore?) and

2) unlike the tailhangerson of a now defunct conservativeism (all the real conservatives have become 'moderate democrats') liberals don't need to be told what and how to think. Wattenburg in the early 90's pointed out if we would build nuclear plants for our electrical needs we'd then be able to use natural gas to help fuel our fleet of vehicles. We now burn natural gas to make our electricity along with coal.

It is interesting if you analyze Wattenburg's findings. His analyses with nuclear replacement completely eliminates all middle eastern oil, and if a pipeline were established from the existing oil in Alaska for natural gas (not ANWR), eliminates all 12 million barrels per day of imported oil.

But since policy being made in Washington gives in to environMentalists based on THEIR political positions we end up with dirty filthy coal electrical plants, not quite so dirty natural gas electrical plants, both placing tons upon ton upon tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, and 60% of our energy needs coming from foreign sources.

Other wonderful things this environMental movement has given us is the water polluting MTBE additive to gas, corn based ethanol production (requires 1 gallon of fossil fuel expenditure per 1.6 gallons produced), as opposed to sugar beet ethanol (requires 1 gallon fossil fuel expenditure per 8 gallons produced), and have shut down our domestic oil exploration.

Not to fear though, Congress just passed their farm bill subsidizing all those corn producers with billions of dollars. They set the ceiling for benefits beginning at near $1 million of income for the "farmer" going up to something like $1.8 million. President Bush had recommended the subsidy be set for lower incomes ($250,000.00) but Congress felt the poor millionaire corn growers deserved the ethanol subsidy. Thank goodness someone is watching over us.

The kind of radio programming you get in any given area caters to the kind of listeners who live there. When you travel outside this Northern California area you find that people think of it as occupied mostly by rednecks. Just like when you travel through Texas or Arkansas you get mostly raving Bible-thumpers on your car radio. I'm surprised, Jack Jamison, that you spend any time at all listening to local radio here on the Ridge. Do you really enjoy such weird stuff? Get satellite TV and tune in to Jon Stewart and Steve Colbert. They make toast of Bush and it's totally funny.

Bottom line, America is in large part pro Conservative ideas and agendas. We like the Conservative ideas because they're Pro-American ideas. We Support America and what America is trying to do to help the oppressed nations of the world. Conservatives also are for a smaller Government and lower taxes. We listen to them on talk radio because they agree with our moral principles and our ideas that we can take care of ourselves and our money better than the Government can. We love the USA and want our Nation to be successful in every area of life.
