TOP 5 restaurants on Freeport's Nautical Mile

I agree with one comment above every resteraunt on the nautical mile will seem like cafeteria food once you try popeis clam bar on n.wantagh ave. In bethpage. Everything is fresh portions are huge and prices are unreal! So affordable. Staff is great and the owner is an absolute doll comes out every night and personalizes with customers. Been going for over 20 years. You want real seafood w/ a great dining experience go here ppl! Thank me later ;)

Went to Bracco's yesterday in Freeport and it was awful, from the service to the food. I am not at a cheap person but the bill came to $183.00 we walked out of there still hungry and not drunk! We only had 2 beers each and ordered the baked clams that were no bigger than a quarter. I was disappointed to say the least. I havent been there in years and after yesterday will never go back. The waitress rec'd a built in gratutity of 18% b/c we were a party of 8, 4 of which were children and 2 didnt even order anything. She didnt deserve 2 cents.

Edna and Joe Elliot ran the great Poop Deck and it was legendary, as was this feisty elder couple of 'sea salts'.- Joe named E.B. Elliot's after Edna - Did he marry her?
Wish there was SOME site that featured photos of the great old Poop Deck.- Edna and Joe tending bar on wintry nights; the neon lights with the martini glass, and the simple charm of this old, welcoming structure built like a ship's poop deck.- What we lose with 'progress'!

I love Popeis - my sister and I go to the one in Sayville a lot.
