Churches were created so people wouldn't have to think. It helps to control everybody. Works, don't it?

I got sucked in by the headline. I thought China was somehow trying to protect the "sanctity" of Christianity. Now I see the boycott is being urged by Chinese Catholics.

Religion and Science are compatible. I study both
AND go to church.

Is this possible?

I am deeply offended that the Catholic church is making so much of a mere movie calling it "immoral" and yet allowed their clergy to abuse children entrusted to their care by moving the abusing priests around from parish to parish and hiding these facts in order not to tarnish their "image". I would call that fact VERY immoral but you didn't hear the outcry from the church over that. Don't talk the talk unless you walk the walk.

Definitely not an easy thing to do considering almost everything is made in CHINA. Reminds me of a mini story my spouse told me about this girl that was born in China and moved to US and when old enough, had a tattoo put on the bottom of her foot that said, you guessed it, "Made in China". Too funny!

Wow! Where do you shop? I used to buy a lot of stuff from L.L. Bean. The last thick catalog I received from them only had 6 pages where most items didn't say "imported". Didn't say where they were imported from, buy I thought the heck with it. If I'm going to buy something made in Bandladesh, Viet Nam, or China, I may as well go to WalMart. Which reminds me, remember when WalMart had signs all over the place bragging that "We Buy American"? Perhaps they stil buy from an American but you can bet 95% of anything made ofplastic, glass, wood or metal will have been MADE IN CHINA.

Now when you say "everybody", do you actually mean "everybody". Are agnostics and atheists controlled by the church de facto because they don't believe in the church?

Like I care what anyone in China thinks of a movie made here for entertainment. Just something to complain about us immoral USA folk. So Sad - don't like it, don't watch it.

With the blocking of free speech and communism running rampant and their human rights violations, we are the immoral ones? I love it.

I believe if you think about it folks.....The movie is a "hit" and none of us have seen it HOWEVER, we are all talking about it and the impact it may or may not have on the world if we watch fiction.. The Catholic Chuch has no right banning a ficitional movie until they have rounded up all of the child molesters that are hiding behind the "Cloth" and cut their bejesus off for the sin they commited against all of the thousands of wonderful children. Children that were taught that going to church was the right thing to do. Behind the government you will more than likely find the church controlling the puppet strings.

It's all smoke and mirrors!!

OK Richard,

But lets not leave out the Protestants, Jews, and Muslims.

We wouldn't want to be prejudiced!

By the way the RCC didn't ban the movie! YEs some members
recommended not seeing it, but it wasn't banned!

Peace ... John

Of course not. "Everybody" is who they want to control (government included).
