Aside from being the right thing to do, it seems silly for a newspaper - which are hanging on by their teeth - to turn away business.

The Forum of Fargo-Moorehead will accept for publication announcements of same-sex marriages, engagements and anniversaries if the marriage takes place in a state or country where it's legally recognized, editor Matt Von Pinnon announced over the weekend.

The newspaper will not publish announcements for non-legally recognized marriages, such as civil unions and commitment ceremonies, he said.
Proving, once again, that even legally recognized civil whatchamacallits are no substitute for marriage equality.

You sound bitter. Was the announcement of your fist marriage on the funny pages or was it in the obituaries?

Wimps! Note it said that people were "equally divided" on the issue. It shouldn't matter that people on other continents wanted this. The newspaper is for local people. As usual, the gays must have screamed and whined and threatened (bullied) their way into getting this and the wimps at the newspaper caved in.

They are probably going to lose subscribers who didn't want this.

A "fist marriage"? That sounds gay.
Do gays now want to marry their fists?

...TYPO.... Your bitter. First marriage...funny papers...obituaries etc...

Wouldn't really know since I'm not gay but YOU sure did respond quickly. YOU are into "fisting"? Do you have a "secret" you want to share? Don't worry I won't tell!

Makes as much sense as a guy marrying another guy.

I bet they have no problem publishing the marriage announcements for heterosexuals convicted of felonies such as rape, murder, pedophiles along with misdemeanor charges of domestic assault and those who have been divorced because they were caught cheating on their previous spouse.

Depends. What's the alternative? Marring you or "lily"?

Because if it's a choice between SSM or marrying a fishwife I'd "go gay" in a heart beat.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Pisces

Things are not always what they seem today, so be careful. Someone might appear to be completely honest but turn out later to have been fooling you in some way. Or a situation may seem quite clear-cut right now but forthcoming events will reveal that things are very different under the surface. So be wary about who and what you believe, and don't let anyone push you into making important decisions today because they may not be in your best interests.
