Rajesh Khanna critical again; admitted to Lilavati hospital Zeenews Bureau

Mumbai: Rajesh Khanna has been admitted to the hospital as his health is known to have deteriorated again. The Bollywood iconic actor has been rushed to Lilavati hospital after complications in his health were reported.

The actor, recently seen in a TV ad had stopped intake of food the past few days. His estranged wife Dimple Kapadia is taking care of him right now. The actor is believed to be suffering from a stomach infection.

The ailing superstar Rajesh Khanna appeared on the balcony of his residence, Aashirwad, on Thursday, along with wife Dimple Kapadia and son-in-law Akshay Kumar and showed the victory sign to the waiting crowd outside indicating that all is well.

Rajesh Khanna, touted as Hindi cinema`s "first superstar", began his acting career with 'Aakhri Khat' in 1966 and rose to prominence with his performances in films like 'Raaz','Do Raaste' and 'Aradhana'.

He earned his title following 15 consecutive solo super hits between 1969 to 1972.

Recently, he was seen in a TV commercial for Havell`s fan. The campaign was directed by R. Balki.

Everything about ‘The Phenomenon’ Rajesh Khanna is big. And rightly so! After all, he is the biggest superstar, the supernova of the Indian film industry. Needless to say the news of his hospitalisation this afternoon has come as a shock to one and all, more so the film fraternity and millions of his fans across the globe. After all, there are not many who aren't fans or admirers of Rajesh Khanna.

Prayers and get well soon messages are pouring in from all quarters even as various television channels are flashing the news of Khanna’s hospitalisation. Thousands of fans have flooded Twitter with prayers for their superstar - in a re-run of sorts of the overwhelming scenes of support and prayers for the veteran actor on June 21, when reports of Khanna's deteriorating health had started coming in. On Thursday, thousands of fans had lined up outside his Bandra bungalow ‘Ashirwad’ in the hope of getting to hear some news about their superstar.

Putting to rest the anxiety and concern of his fans,‘Kaka’ had come to the balcony of his home that evening along with estranged wife Dimple Kapadia and son-in-law Akshay Kumar and gleefully waved at his fans, showing them the ‘V’ sign.

No wonder, the serene smile on the face of the frail-looking and weak superstar of yesteryears brought relief to his admirers, who continue to pray for his well being and long life.

Wish the superstar a healthy and a long life and a speedy recovery.

May God protect us from such a trauma. I hope now at least all the critics on this forum who claimed he was 'nobody' know and had no fans but 'electric fans' are willing to admit they were wrong. The crowds outside his home, the articles admitting he still has millions of fans and the way the news of his health has dominated the news shows Rajesh Khanna is still the supermegastar he always was. And always will be.

Not only this, question has been raised in the Indian Parliament about Kakaji's health, towards Amir Khan when he recently visited there for reducing prices of costly medicines.

Ifran Khan just few days ago during a promotional event of his Hollywood film, bombered with questions about Kakaji.
