David Cook Wins 'American Idol'

Hello,
I strongly suspect that the winning result was in fact for David Archuleta and that they (Nigel and company) simply put dishonestly David Cook as the winner in place of David Archuleta.
The way they have manipulated the contestants by giving them (very bad choices sometimes) or refusing them song choices is a good demonstration of the way they manipulate this singing contest.
Especially the shocking manipulation of who sings what for the Top 3 is an indication of the way they manipulate this contest.
Moreover, the number of voters liking Archuleta's type of music is much higher than the number of voters liking Cook's type of music.

Plz I kept falling asleep when Archuleta was singing.....I'm glad that Cook won.....He isn't standing there looking like he is going to cry every 5 seconds.....Congrats Cook.....Archie....go get your pacifier

The better man won. People voted for the more original performer and saw right through the show's attempt to skew the votes to Archeuleta.

im glad david COOK won american idol.

i don't like david a. im glad he didn't win. and for once a rock guy acually one. im not into rock really but i think cook is good at rock.

I think David Cook can handle the aftermath of the Idol better than the other David. I see a future for young David with Disney and much more. Hopefully he'll take it slow and enjoy his youth. They are both terrific.

I can't believe that David Cook won!! David Archlueta was too young.

Congrats to David Cook.. I live 20 minutes from Blue Springs Missouri and this is most definatly the biggest thing to hit that lovely city.. David is a true inspiration to many people.. He is proud of where he came from and I know he will make The Show Me State very proud of him.. Way to go!!

Acceptance mate. If anything, they tried to manipulate in David A's favour. I thought Cook had a pretty average night. David A had the better songs and put on the A game. Was good that the voters remembered Cook's originality, even tho it wasn't shown in the Finale.

David Cook U are the best. Warm regard from me n my daughter who always watch U on TV from Indonesia.

Thanks to Tivo I was able to replay the finale's end several times, and I have never seen such a remarkable and joyful upset during the history of this show, of which I am a big fan. Obviously the right performer won; my only disappointment was that David Cook did not go up against Syesha Mercado in the finale. However, we'll be hearing from some of these performers down the road. David Cook will challenge Chris Daughtry's standing as the most successful idol commercially. Syesha will be the next idol to win an Oscar. And David Archuleta will be plastered all over Tiger Beat magazine for years to come, with the Jason Castro sidebar. Christy Lee Cook will have huge success as a country singer and will be able to make a successful offer to buy back her horse. Michael Johns will get a TV series, and Carly Smithson will start out as David Cook's opening act before moving on to bigger and better things. Some will fall into Idol obscurity, popping up now and agsin on Idol spin off talk shows. I think the show needs to evolve now. The contestants should be allowed to sing each song for a full three minutes starting with the final 12, and maybe each one could have an appropriate personal mentor for the duration of the competition.

David Archuleta should have won american idol. He was a much better singer. But I have to give David Cook a round of aplause as he did win, and he was good.

David Archuleta is going to have fantastic career ahead of him, and deserves it to.. to me they are both winners

Well I have to say that both Davids did a fantastic job! But I have to say that David Cook was the best! I knew he would win this competition as of the begining. I picked him from the start and I had a good feeling about him. Also David Archuleta did a great job and I think he is going to get a record deal because of his great voice. Also props to American Idol for an awsome finale for the show. It was really amazing, I loved seeing the other contestants that were there to support both Davids. Well I think that is all I have to say.

I think that both Davids were very good. David A. seems to actually have the best singing voice, but David Cook is very good too. They have different styles and they're both talented in their own ways.

I'm kind of glad that David Cook won though. I'm from Missouri too and I wonder if David A. could have stood all the pressure that an American Idol winner will be under the next year. He is so young. Congratulations to both of them. They both seem like very nice guys.

Actually David Cook was in the bottom three once-and so it goes.

The fix was reverse psychology. Simon threw Cook under the train Tuesday, and Cook voters retaliated with redial. Simon knew exactly what he was doing. 19E saw that Archie would be a nightmare to manage with his father constantly interceding. I imagine both were told before the finale that they'll receive contracts regardless of the outcome. 19E has first right of refusal on all of the top 12.

Everyone underestimated the power of the over-30 females and the raging hormones that DC knew exactly how to play to. Overall, the finale was one of the best shows I've watched in years - The DC/DA duet was amazing. I wanted DC to win, but was happy either way. It really didn't matter who won - the real competition is yet to come for them - the vote with album sales. Good luck to both.
