Electricity glut threatens North Country's green power industry

North Country glut??? New York has a lot of hydro stations, steam plants and very few nuclear. Look at the physical size of the state. IT'S BIG! New York needs power and isn't afraid to buy it BUT hydro quebec has an excess of generated power and is willing to sell it. Quebec is already supplying hydro in the form of D.C. to an area around Pittsfield Mass where it's down converted to alternating three phase power. Northeast Utilities run the conversion plant. Northeast utilities also has an upgraded pumped storage plant in Northfield Mountain. I worked there for about 20 years. When I left its output was 1080 megawatts. Since then they've rewound all four stators for yet a higher station total.
