You are really not paying attention. The US and the world is already in a massive recession. There is nothing Obama is doing that can actually make the economy any worse. Wall Street crashed under Bush's term. All Obama is doing is mitigating the effects. What this bill does is provide new rules and regulations to move america into a post oil economy in the long term.

The rest of the world (especially Europe) has been waiting for America to be knocked down to the bottom and this is exactly what they wanted (the scheme of schemes indeed), mean while China which is one of the biggest polluters on the planet will continue to dump toxins in rivers, lakes and the ocean and pollute the air so badly that they'll have to restrict pollution where the Olympics are held, oh, they already did that. If this passes, be fore-warned, you will be hosed for taxes and high energy costs beyond your wildest imagination (not to mention every time you go to the store you will need to bring a lot more money) what little manufacturing we have now will be gone to other shores where they will be able to afford to manufacture. Every single person in DC that voted for this needs to be handed their hat and booted to the curb. Say goodbye to manufacturing, your job and your money...I hear TAPS in the near future for America...

What rock did you crawl out from under?? Nobama is driving the bus and we are going over a cliff, this bill has nothing at all to do with "providing new rules and regulations to move america into a post oil economy" they do not want "oil" to go away they make too much money off of it, the government makes more on a gallon of crude than the oil companies do, it's all about the money they can't get enough taxes off of it the old way so they came up with this.
So will be interesting to see the reaction when gas goes up 75% to start, and your electric bill doubles, that will really kill what is left of the economy US companies will not be able to compete and will be forced to close down, but that is what nobama wants.
How on earth do you figure "Bush crashed the stock market" you should read a little more, if you really want to know it was the refusal of the democrats to do their job, they were either in on the deal or were too stupid to see they were being set up either way they have to go, it was the banks you idiot, remember fannie mae and freddie mac, the government forcing banks to loan money to people that could never pay it back, the scam was going pretty good until good old Chuck Schumer leaked the information to a friend in the press that things were about to crash.
