Whether or not they should be impeached, doesn't matter. They aren't being impeached. Just look at Bush. Look at what he got away with. Unconstitutional? Does that mean anything anymore? Didn't you even read my last post - the speech in 1999 was becuase REPUBLICANS were LABASTING them for NOT doing ENOUGH to address Y2K. Read their WHOLE speech, not just snippits. They were facing Republican cristism of their Y2K efforts and they even stated in many interviews that their efforts were in direct response to that critism.

But go on beleiving the retroactive spin

The Y2K bug was only related to "DOS" home Computers. "NOT" mini-computers, mainframe computers or even Apple Computers.

The world ran and still does on Unix based systems, and were "NOT" affected by this exaggerated Gore doomsday bug...

Old hardware "bios" and "Dos" had the truncated time/date routines because they were limited in memory. Newer hardware had worked around this because they had machines that were faster and had more internal memory. However, software also had similar problems. As it was updated there was no need to write these routines until we got close to the new millennium. Many of the records were stamped with this truncated information and to work with the expanded new four digit year stamp that was necessary, there needed to be a routine that added the missing two digits. For example, 01/01/99 needed to be expanded to 01/01/1999 before it could interface with the year 01/01/2000. If not, the calculated interval would have been 1901 years instead of just one year.

As for health care - we already pay for people who don't have insurance why is this different that car insurance? Everybody has to buy health insurance - good!
