Let's break it down into sections: How many killed whilst travelling to work? How many killed whilst returning home from work? How many killed whilst going on holiday/vacation? How many killed whilst returning from holiday/vacation? How many killed whilst going out for the evening? How many killed whilst.........get the picture? - That should keep you busy for a while. - NB: Here are some UK stats for you to work with: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reported_Road_Ca... I completely agree.. Why dwell on a couple of nuclear accidents when in totality, they amount to one poofteenth of a percent of accidents world wide. Well pointed out.

Hi again Amy, Maybe not in your neck of the woods, but I assure you that across the world new nuclear power plants are under construciton all the time. The US has not built one for some time, and as a result lags the rest of the world. Mainland China has 14 nuclear power reactors, more than 25 under construction, 40 by 2020, 200 by 2030 and 400 by 2050. http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf63.html

If a few thousand die in China the government really doesn't mind. Hope their nuclear safety is better than their mining safety. A few deaths doesn't really matter unless they are your family does it ??

OK, lets look at the world, Nuclear power generation occurs in 29 countries around the globe in 434 Nuclear Reactors, consuming 61,654 tonnes of Uranium, which we, in Australia, are eternally grateful for. There are currently 61 (26 in China) reactors being built and 156 Reactors (120 in China) being planned. So, the rest of the world is building Reactors as well, including 1 under construction in the USA and 27 being planned. http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/reactors.ht... Do you have any references for your statements or is it just pure opinion?

Well rob, you can have all the nukes you want. Here in the states it's a different climate concerning new construction. They are too expensive and taxpayers are not to keen on paying for them.

But there's more: Iraq war ends with a $4 trillion IOU Veterans’ health care costs to rise sharply over the next 40 years http://www.marketwatch.com/story/iraq-war-end... - Oh yes, don't forget Afghanistan.

We don't want "quite a few" more nuclear plants here or to be like Japan. For a trillion dollars we could have a lot of things here .
