Nice, first page full of spammers. "Moderator", you are not doing your job. How can you get any meaningful conversation on a thread of crap.

Are you all supposed to be adults? You act like children pushing your political, personnal, and ethical beliefs down eachothers' throats as though each one of did wouldn't know how to swallow. You are making a mockery of public forums, especially education. I am I 19 year old male interested in the secondary education field, and these kinds of malicious interrogation and insults simply suggest that the education system nor it's stupids are the problem, it's most of you, the ignorant parents. Hope "ya'll" took that into consideration. And for those who are unaware the word "ya'll" is considered colloquialism, and is rather improper to use in text.
Sorry. I see no serious political views here. Just crap. Unfortunately that is more of what you're seeing these days; it's called "trolls". How do you know any of these posters are adults?

It's a weekend, what can you say.
People are either attempting to enjoy it, are more concerned with urgent things or busy, I'd think.

At any rate, this should demonstrate part of what's wrong with the education system today. I have MUCH to say on the issue having raised 3 children, but I don't want to dominate the thread.
I once considered home schooling. Unfortunately at the time I didn't have a full blown college education which is one of the legal requirements last time I looked. We are blessed in this state that we DO have a supporting organization and a legal organization who supports homeschoolers. It's worth it I think. Our kids went to private school.

Many of these state laws are unconsitutional. The US Supreme Court established parental rights in a decision about the Amish.
Parents have a right to guide, direct, and control their children's education and training.
That right trumps State control over schools in that state.

That said, if you do decide to send your kids to a state school, then your rights as a parent do not
intrude into the state's curriculum. The State can teach evolution, state-church separation, the truth about the Mexican War, the Christian defense of slavery, the fact that Jefferson and Madison were deists,
and other things you do not like.

The majority of home schooled kids I've met are more educated than to get involved in this type of banter. Their parents on the other hand; I'm wondering about after reading the first few pages of this topic. Gezzz.

I have nothing against homeschoolers at all, unless the kids are being abused, tortured, or forced into slave labor. Evolution is true and the world is very, very old, but people have every right to believe an alternative theory or theories.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
