Glad to see someone in Redondo Beach leadership is actually making good decisions. Now if all those turds in the City Council sandbox would start doing the same thing, we would be looking pretty good in the city.

a public school district choosing to lease property to a religious institution, wow if that doesn't violate separation of church and state I think I may need to sue to stop this...

Redondo has done a great service to the community by not allowing affordable housing because what that breaks down to be an infusion of undesireable people that will be given a chance to ruin a beach community redondo doesnt need the ghetto moving in

Self serving and not truthful, sure but a turd? I think that is a little strong.

It's separation of church and state, not suppression of church by the state.

This is the same old tired argument and threat you hear from the left. Violation of Church and State! I'm going to sue! So very very boring.

The RBUSD baord is so shady. Things have no changed over the years. They let mean teachers tell them what to do and they do it. They are NOT concerned about the welfare of the kids. I've seen it firsthand. My nephews go to Adams. What a joke of a board. BUT...this time they made the right choice. Christian families need choice high schools for their kids. Mind you, there are some GREAT high schools in the South Bay but none of them are Christian based ones that are not Catholic.

If the rent isn't paid from DAY ONE, the SCHOOL BOARD should be tossed out for malfeasance like the Bell City Council.

I like the idea of their being a Christian high school in the area for the parents who want that option. I don't know of any Christian private school in the area that goes past the 8th grade. However, from reading the article I think this particular venture seems shaky, and the School Board will be driven out of town if this doesn't work. I don't see how he's going to plan, build, and open a new school in one year, when he just started thinking about it again in June. I wonder if this school is going to be affiliated with / supported by any particular demonination? One last comment... I think it's kind of funny that this group of Knob Hill residents fought so hard to bring a school with a potential enrollment of 450 onto this location, while just a couple of months ago the residents of upper Knob Hill fought just as hard to prevent a small Montessori School preschool from moving onto the Church of Religious Science property.

i believe the leasing by a city of public school property, owned by each and every taxpayer, to a house of worship - ie, a religious school, which, by its very nature, excludes some of the population - may be a violation of the separation of church and state. i'm not sure. on one hand, religious institutions don't pay taxes. but this religious school will pay rent to a public school district that also does not pay taxes. am i off base here? it's very confusing. and yes, i think these mullings should be addressed by the city before either institution moves ahead. lawsuits ARE costly.

You had better be ready to spend a lot of money if you choose to sue. Also be ready to lose. You have no argument.
